I do prefer the original. Why?

I had a lite and I had to take it back several times to get a new one. I've got a original DS and I've had it since it came out.

Sure it's got scratches but I've dropped it several times and it hasn't broke yet, and sure the lite has a brighter screen but the original DS has a better mic and sound... and the GBA carts don't stick out.

As for the DSi, since they have to be imported from Japan I'd imagine they would be expensive as hell, and they don't play GBA games.

This is what I find wrong with the DS lite:

Cheap design (Many people are reporting cracks and broken hinges in thier systems. I found some in the first week I used mine)

Cheap, low quality speakers (The original DS speakers were a lot louder and clearer)

Short battery life unless the screen is on the lowest brightness setting (like anybody is going to use that)

Game Boy Advance games stick out of the unit.

The shoulder buttons become discolored.

Dust and other debree gets stuck in the casing.

The screen blurs more than the original DS (I guess it has a higher pixel response time, which is bad)

The controls seem to be less responsive (Trying to play Super Mario 64 made me want to kill myself)

You will leave huge visible fingerprints on the unit because of the glossy plastic.

My recommendation: The DS Lite is not worth it even with the brighter screen, smaller size and bigger stylus, and the DSi is too damn expensive. Regular DS FTW!
