I would say even Rockstar should not be happy about that deployment. Here is some sort of acting needed... in these days I tend even to avoid the MP generally. When I read some posts here in these forum about griefing and greifers.. .. I get a cold puke! Such an amount of antisocial crap of people is unbelievable. What are the benefits of destroying otherones game-experiences? I don´t get it! Same thing with cheaters in MP. I have nothing against people using cheats in SP... why should I, but when others are effected by this... rud Posted December 25, 2008 Share Posted December 25, 2008 Here's my worry: MS or Rock* is going to step in at some point and we all know they don't quite have the dexterity of surgeons when it comes to fixing problems. They're heavy handed approach will probably see dozens of legitimate users getting banned for doing things like adjusting the 'p' blur settings which should be perfectly fine because it can be legitimately disabled altogether. It's probably best until official word is heard to be very very careful what you change as they're likely to implement something without telling us first because that's just the kind of thinkers they are. It's amazing to think they failed to include any anti cheat system whatsoever. The cadillac way for this to have been done was a) let people modify their files (that way you won't be surprised when we uhh, start modifying files) and then b) insure everybody on the server is sharing the same config files, it's just text, it's small, server hands out its copy and everyone temporarily uses that. That way at least everyone's on the same field and if you hate rocket launcher pistols as much as I do you'll avoid those servers. Like EdGein just said, SP cheating and MP cheating are whole different animals. One is wonderfully enjoyable, the other is simply inconsiderate at best. If you had a problem with your game, like the control problem for example where you have to replace the .dll files which allows you to use other controllers. Would you be classed as a hacker or cheater? You would jump at the chance to try something to fix your game that's not made by the devs. So stop being a hypocrite, and move on... What you don't understand about cheaters, they get thrills from immature players like yourself crying about cheats, which then eggs them on to carry on. I had my fair share or discussions like this in the past with other games that have resulted in nothing more than abuse or flaming, so now I have given up. However, i like how i sometimes managed to successfully fight cheaters in SAMP... i mean, they are noob enough to start up their cheats, but then they still loose? wtf? However, many cheaters only gain "fame" for some minutes and then get banned. And i havent met any cheaters on GTA 4 yet. If they can't play the game how it should be played, you wouldn't have any interest to play at all. Before you start making false accusations, try reading the PC section. LOL I KNEW IT !!!!!!!! yes because on the console you can open up the console and input a kick/ban command when hosting a server. I have the PC version, just have only played MP on colsole so far, haven't even been able to run the game on my PC yet because mu 8800 died on me and my backup is an old x800xl , luckily its though BFG and another is on the way, should be here on monday but anyway I was just curious if you had to kick people that same way or if you could open the console and kick/ban when hosting, not sure how that makes me a consoler. Then after that we have a race and I piss all over you. Who has the advantage? Come on, I'm sure your brain is big enough to figure this out.... So with your theory, I'm a cheater? So I would be called the cheat for using a modified .dll file just so I'm not forced to use an XBOX 360 control? The same file that you could also use but can't because your control is not supported? I take it that If I overclock my CPU so its faster than yours, that's a cheat as well?? If I have a better graphics card than yours, I'm classed as a cheat?? Nice theory's you have there, maybe you should go play on the console instead, just until you truly understand how PC's work. As for racing, did I specify a game? We are in a GTA forum, and driving is 90% of the game! Are you sure you have played GTA? BTW, only low life kids cheat..Ones who dont have the brains to practice nor the balls to play a game fairly. Anything to have an unfair advantage over other players huh!!! childish if you ask me All I can say is you cheaters, whether its in SP or in MP (and really if you have to cheat in GTA IV SP you must really suck cause the missions are pretty damn easy), should be bitch slapped and their computer thrown down a frikin 50 story building.
