Brad
I've just uninstalled all my Sims 2 stuff and getting ready for the Sims 3! Will be going into town tomorrow morning and getting my copy, better than going in on Saturday, it'll be crowded as hell and probably out of stock. Brad
Will The Sims 3 come onto Steam? I'm sure it will, it is the best selling PC game.
GTA3Freak-2001
Yeah guys the game runs as well as Sims 2 for me, it uses the same basic engine but more refined from what I see in my quick play.

Moth
hey can anyone tell me if the sims 3 is coming out on xbox360 tomorrow? The Sims 3 is only PC right now. Why would you want the game on a console when the past sims games sucked balls on the console? This game is only good on the PC. There is no news that the game is coming to the 360 or PS3. Hell the only sims games that are coming to the console are the MySims that is made for the Wii. Blind Joe Death
I haven't heard anywhere that Sims 3 is coming to xbox or ps3. And I really doubt it is going to come to them. Good. The version's of the Sims that have come to console f*cking suck. It will always be a PC game.
copperwire93
Yeah it's better off on PC. The consoles story version ain't fun. If they make Sims 3 on console, just imagine the graphics and loading time

Tommy-Vercetti19
Picking up my copy after my Geography exam at 4. F*ck me i'm going to be playing all day. Everyone upload their pics and Lots at MTS2 and post them here. I've got some good sketches for lots i have done out for TS2 but never even started it. hopefully i can get one finished here due to some of the limitations i ran into on TS2. Anyone know if you can build basements?

Nah, the engines completely changed, not noticeable for us but in the Sims 2 engine, half the stuff we're taking for granted in S3 now was impossible. SovietWarrior42
I'm having some performance issues, which is surprising. I guess I'll have to turn some settings down. Anyways, besides that the game is fun. The pattern option is really great, and probably the best thing they've put in the game. The cell phone's another good addition. It just makes me wonder why I'd buy a regular phone. Only thing is, this game's not really grabbing my attention. I keep thinking I should of bought Red Faction: Guerilla or something. Brad
Hey, i've been installing for an hour now. I'd love to see how this game is fun, but I think i'll be watching this install screen for another f*cking hour. THis is exciting sh*t, this is when I miss the game thing on the Sims 2 installation screen.
SovietWarrior42
Really? It took me about 30 minutes at the most to install it. All I can suggest is to watch some TV to pass the time.

SovietWarrior42
Book? Who reads books anymore, seriously. Why would I want to read when I can watch MacGyver fix a spark plug with a nail, some wire, and a jumper cable hooked up to a car battery?

Rebel
Got my retail version today, played it for a couple hours just now. I've already downloaded some custom content from the Sims site and from Mod the sims 2 site. I have to say, when playing the uh...copy I got before it went retail, the game was really smooth when say, going to the shop, and then coming home. Now I've noticed the surrounding areas taking a lot longer to load to get to full detail. I guess I'll have to bump down some settings from high. Still, since I've already played it, its not holding much fun for me. Give it a month and I'll be back on the horse.
copperwire93
Maybe the 'uhh' version didn't have Riverview thus the loading time is smooth since the world ain't big. Turn off the smooth edge that option use many GPU memory. Mine's lag when I use 1280x800 with smooth edge, so I use the 1024x768 resolution (without smooth edge of course). Rebel
I don't have smooth edges on. Maybe it might just be the extra town. I know I'm playing in the new one as well. Still, I'll see if I can tweek anything around to make it a little better.
AZAZEL
Anyone know if you can build basements? Sure. You could in Sims 2, too, you know. I just got this yesterday, and I'm enjoying myself quite magnificently.
OysterBarron
this game damands alot, core2duo minimum, and 9700gt minimum<<< and it will still run slowly with that Err... Really? I use on highest settings (without smooth edge at 1024x768) but it runs pretty well. But sure will lags with upcoming expansion packs. My specs 2.41 Ghz AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual 4600+ 2GB RAMS 512MB 8500GT - This is my own PC The card you stated is better than this. I couldn't use my Phenom atm, because of the massive virus and I'm too lazy to format. I dont know if the preview is the same but it was running on my friends laptop with everything on high on his Core2duo 2ghz 2gbram and 128mb graphics card, with only slight lag im hoping i can run this on my laptop but i have amdturion64x2 2.2ghz,4 gbram 128mb ati 1200 onboard graphics, so im hoping when i buy the game maybe tonight it will run better than what his does. Just done can you run it and im under a third away from the fast end sweet! is canyourunit.com reliable for the sims 3? what rigs you guys running and whats the performance like?
