I think it will go something like ... expansion pack release with a patch included / patch arrives as separate download also as the pack is available. I would think all the things listed in the forums/feedback and everywhere else is allot to take on and work a patch from, plus the fact they are and will be working on expansions/updated (the mention of allot more video editor update things from R* Toronto in the main thread for example). I'll think about it. but what with the anger? have I hurt your feelings somehow? by stating the obvious maybe? like, if DX10 was that useful, most games would be DX10 by now (and I as a gamer would feel the need to buy Vista to be able to enjoy the graphic marvels it delivers). what's your theory, then? developers can't use DX10 yet? there's a global conspiracy aiming at making mighty DX10 look bad? I would go for my idea, obviously, but I can understand it can be hard to picture microsoft as an evil corporation that's only here for your money. they would never resort to such practice as to try and force you into upgrading your OS. they've never done that before, mmm? so go on, enlighten me. oh, and for the record, I don't have a console. UT3, Left 4 Dead, and many others. 5-6 years ago if people didn't like a game they'd simply move on to a different one. Now with all the pre-game hype that lasts years, people seem to prefer to hang around on forums bitching about a game rather than playing a different one. It's all a bit weird really. I'd like to think that there will be a second patch. However, as other people have noted, R* haven't been that great with their support in the past, so why would they start now? I just wish we could agree to disagree without having to throw death sentences in the face of each other. on the patch question, like I already said, I don't have my hopes all in the sky for a fix all patch, but there's still huge room for improvement, so a patch fixing the memory leak for good and adding more options to the graphics detail menu would be welcome. also, it would be nice if it didn't break parts of the game that did work before... This means they already have our money, and won't get any more money off the people who already paid for the game. It's been a few weeks since release, and their sales have declined. They are not going to be making much money off the PC version from here on out, patch or no patch. There is no fiscal reason for them to continue supporting the game as it already has a bad name and they don't have to worry about losing subscribers. Their probably won't be another patch, and if there is, it will fail to address properly most of the issues people are complaining about, and will likely result in creating even more issues. This game reminds me of Age of Conan, an incomplete poorly tested bug-laden beta rushed to release. Funcom kept patching AoC because the subscriber losses were causing them to lose a lot of money. I don't see rockstar investing time and money into supporting a game that has already passed it's sales peak and now has a very bad reputation, and is no source of ongoing revenue - despite the obvious moral obligation to it's customers that it, like most software companies, will chose to ignore. I guess I'll just have to go die, then. i will but iam drunken and my spelling sucks alot! so enjoy! the reason why dx10 is vista bound is simple (and complex together). one thing is the DRM model of vista. a complete kernel rewrite and dx10 is xp compatible. but why rewrite a kernel for an OS which is obsolete in 2 years? you get the point... they've never done that before no. directx was always OS unbound and with windows 7 the fact remains the same. and why dx10 never started up till now is something i don't get myself. iam not a developer but one thing is so sure like the amen in the church: the xbox has only a directx9 api, so nobody of the devs will spend time and resources to make his game use ANY of the advantages (like higher drawcalls (only crytek did this kinda) of the dx10 api. so maybe thats why. geom.shader otherwise didn't do anything; but hey: opengl3.0 got the arb_ extensions for it now so maybe the final breakthrough will start soon? oh, and for the record, I don't have a console.
