That alone is cause for a forced recall or refunds let alone a class action suit...but a class action suit on a $50 product where no one was harmed/injured/killed will be a losing propisition financailly....what we need is a civil litigator who is a gamer and is pissed off and will do it pro-bono (and does not mean a U2 fan) ...you got to remember they said it could run on this OS: windows vista service pack 1/XP service pack 3 Processor:Intel Core 2 Duo 1.8 Ghz / AMD Atholon X2 64 2.4 Ghz Memory : 1.5 GB vista/ 1 GB XP/ 16 GB Free Hard Drive Space Video card: 256 MB NVIDIA 7900/256MB ATI X 1900 that's plain to see on the box/inside the guide...this alone is false and misleading information and grounds for a refund/recall and most importantly the right to bitch and moan 100% true Without a doubt, the main thrust and source of all the anger aimed at Rockstar here. Hence the seemingly disproportionate, yet wholly justified outrage exhibited here by those with far superior specs and still getting f*ck all decent framerates. Steam already give refunds for gta 4, i reckon we should sue especially seeing as some gaming companies are so eager to sue people for downloading a game nowadays! Crap . How long was it since you bought the game of Steam? Steam usually never offer refunds it's in the Steam licensing Agreement, however they made an exception for GTA4, but only if you bought it at around launch date and i think your to late. And second, when it's new year, it'll take really long until they're done so just be patient. to tell u the truth, i really dont care if they have to miss christmas in order to make the game work. R* are a bunch of fu**ing liars!!! they lied about the minimum system requirements. i know because i passed those requirements, and the game is still completley unplayable. if i would have known this, i would have never thrown away my cash like that. the only reason they lied about the requirements was so more people could buy the game and they could make more money. BASTARDS!!!! this game is so badly optimized that sometimes it runs pretty smooth (although not as smooth as it should, by pretty smooth i mean 25 fps at most) and other times, it doesnt run at all!!. wat pisses me of the most is that during random times, it could be from the first 3 minutes of gameplay to the next hour of gameplay, the game enters wat i call "unplayable mode". it goes from running at an acceptable level (by this i mean 20 fps at most) to an unplayable level, where the game lags so damn much that iam forced to exit it, because it becomes completely unplayable!!! this happens wen i run it at high graphic settings, or low graphic settings. to me, this is wat annoys me the most, because wen iam in the middle of a mission, i am forced to quit and restart the game. and a lot of the times, (and by a lot i mean 85% of the time) wen i restart the game it goes into "unplayable mode" again, and again ,and again!!! even after restarting my pc. i have done every trick in the book to make this game playable, and still no success. this goes to R*: i really hope that your company goes bankrupt, and that u have to fire every single one of your employees!!!! i hope that u owe so much money to people that u will need to sell your 200,000 dollar cars, your mansions, and all your dam possesions!!!! i hope u loose everything u have and have to go live under a bridge, i really do. this is the LAST time i will EVER buy a game from your POS company!!!!!!! instead of swimming in STOLEN cash, u should get your asses up, and start making as many patches as neeeded in order to make this damn game playable. the only game that actually takes advantage of quad core proccessors is this one. but not because of its amazing graphics, but because of how sh*tty the coders are!!! If you bought better hardware you'd know that this game can run beautifully. I haven't had a single problem. The only thing Rockstar did wrong was screw up the minimum hardware requirements. Give them a break; let them cool down over the Christmas - New Years break. Get off your computers are go out in the meantime, go for a run and lift some weights FFS. And i bet you by mid to late Jan; a second patch will come out. It will resolve some main problems, have some more features, probably make afew more minor problems. It could mean that it gets 20FPS...it could also mean that it gets 3 frames-per-hour. The only rock-solid case PC gamers have against Rockstar Games is that Rockstar Games is a f*ckstick company that is full of tossers. The problem there is - I don't think that is against the law. What happened, was that Rockstar Toronto (being a console-ass-kissing Rockstar studio) developed and tested the GTA IV port on a single PC. Because, at Rockstar, they think that "the PC" is a console...that every single PC is the same. I remember the line "it plays beautifully on the PC". Obviously they tested the port on a liquid nitrogen-cooled maximum-overclocked Core 2 Quad Extreme with 16GB DDR3 RAM, 6 x maximum-overclocked GTX280s, and a two separate 15,000 rpm SCSI Cheetah hard disks (one for Windows, one for GTA IV). The only thing Rockstar did wrong was screw up the minimum hardware requirements. buddy, i may not have the best pc in the world, but i would say its pretty decent. 8800gt 512 video ram, 4 gigs of system ram, and a 2.4 ghz dual cpu's. i have run games with far better graphics than gta iv, and they have run PERFECTLY. i have run games that were still in their BETA stage that have ran better than this. you mentioned u havent had a single problem, well congratulations, enjoy the game. however, thats not the case for MOST of the people. just to give u an idea of how badly optimized this game is, Steam is givin out refunds for the game. thats right. Steam NEVER gives out refunds, except for gta iv. the problem iam having is not my hardware, the problem is how badly R* has optimized the game. iam sure there are plenty people out their with monstrous rigs that are able to run this game perfectly, however, the minimum system requirements states NOTHING too demanding. my point is u shouldnt need a monstrous pc in order to run this, since there are games with much better graphics than this that run perfectly. Did he have his license revoked? Obviously they tested the port on a liquid nitrogen-cooled maximum-overclocked Core 2 Quad Extreme with 16GB DDR3 RAM, 6 x maximum-overclocked GTX280s, and a two separate 15,000 rpm SCSI Cheetah hard disks (one for Windows, one for GTA IV). Even if a second patch does come out, i doubt we will see a miracle patch that is going to give us 10-15 extra FPS.
