Still no second patch confirmed from rockstar?

I'm getting pretty tired of people whinging. Clearly there is an impatient, agitated, sexless, sleep deprived generation of gamers being spawned all over the world who don't have a firm grip on reality or understand how the world works. I have been lurking on these forums for a while and notice that people are quicker at posting complaints than they are at rebooting their PC or whatever.

My favourite one that I see regularly on many game forums is 'OMG this game is turd blah blah blah' and then they return and post 'Oh I updated/rebooted and everything seems to work okay now' or they don't return at all leaving the community to post possible solutions for them that will never be read.

 

In reality, as mentioned above, it is the Holidays. R* work long hours. They are dedicated. They too deserve a break. Remember that they are also gamers and want the best game possible. Would you want them to slave away 24/7 until their eyes bleed to release a patch simply because "I want it now!!!" or would you prefer them to have a break and return to the game refreshed and with fresh eyes to see problems they may have overlooked from exhuastion. The game runs great on my rig and all of my freinds rigs so I don't see a great need for a patch. Only problem I find is sometimes I get a bit of pop-up but nothing major.

 

Perhaps if you can't run it as you'd anticipated or are having problems getting desired frame rate it may be technical issues, Or perhaps it is the universe trying to tell you that you could fulfil your life's potential moreso if you weren't stuck staring at a computer screen in a dark room away from the real world and your real friends.

If you are over the age of consent and still a virgin this particularly applies to you. Choose your priorities. Life is too short.

 

If you are angry at R* because "they stoled my monies" perhaps you need to focus less on gaming and more on a career or way of making money so upgrading is such a pipe dream. Unfortunately, in life, nothing comes easy. Complaining rarley gets you anywhere. Hard work, patience and experience does.

Just be patient, as first the employees are with there family for christmas, and do we really want to take them away the best feast in the year just for a game? And second, when it's new year, it'll take really long until they're done so just be patient.

to tell u the truth, i really dont care if they have to miss christmas in order to make the game work. R* are a bunch of fu**ing liars!!! they lied about the minimum system requirements. i know because i passed those requirements, and the game is still completley unplayable. if i would have known this, i would have never thrown away my cash like that. the only reason they lied about the requirements was so more people could buy the game and they could make more money. BASTARDS!!!! this game is so badly optimized that sometimes it runs pretty smooth (although not as smooth as it should, by pretty smooth i mean 25 fps at most) and other times, it doesnt run at all!!. wat pisses me of the most is that during random times, it could be from the first 3 minutes of gameplay to the next hour of gameplay, the game enters wat i call "unplayable mode". it goes from running at an acceptable level (by this i mean 20 fps at most) to an unplayable level, where the game lags so damn much that iam forced to exit it, because it becomes completely unplayable!!! this happens wen i run it at high graphic settings, or low graphic settings. to me, this is wat annoys me the most, because wen iam in the middle of a mission, i am forced to quit and restart the game. and a lot of the times, (and by a lot i mean 85% of the time) wen i restart the game it goes into "unplayable mode" again, and again ,and again!!! even after restarting my pc. i have done every trick in the book to make this game playable, and still no success.

 

 

this goes to R*: i really hope that your company goes bankrupt, and that u have to fire every single one of your employees!!!! i hope that u owe so much money to people that u will need to sell your 200,000 dollar cars, your mansions, and all your dam possesions!!!! i hope u loose everything u have and have to go live under a bridge, i really do. this is the LAST time i will EVER buy a game from your POS company!!!!!!! instead of swimming in STOLEN cash, u should get your asses up, and start making as many patches as neeeded in order to make this damn game playable. the only game that actually takes advantage of quad core proccessors is this one. but not because of its amazing graphics, but because of how sh*tty the coders are!!!

R* is responsible for their bad optimization. all of them are. from the coders to the top dogs.

they make a game like GTA4, realize they messed up, work on fixing it,

I have experenced the GTA IV PC files and I got amazed.

I saw some files thats ended with ps3 and xbox360.

This is just console port.

Even an brainles chimpanse could burn the xbox360 dvd to the PC files that windows read them.

Dunno though... if Rockstar was really interested in making a proper PC port they should've done it in the time we have given to them... 7 months between the console and PC release. You'd both have to be in the same country to start with (otherwise it probably gets expensive), and then you go to a post office and say you want to mail a package "cash on delivery" to such-and-such address, and specify the price of the item.

Sometimes trying to connect to a multiplayer game, it kicks you, the "error message" then behind this is, your pc is running to slow, and then you can no longer connect to that server again (I dont know the percentage of users having this problem)

 

 

As for if Rockstar should go bankrupt. No, if your smart enough to know how to code, model, design, or make money out of making games for a living, then going out and being employed by a company that is well known amongst the gaming community for its ground breaking game development (2D- to 3D World Environment), then it all comes down to business ethics

 

Either stick with what the game was first made for (console) or spend your hard earned/or pocket money on the ever changing trend of computer parts every month/year to get the game running at the frame rates required to make the game playable to your eyes

this is also partially why devs are going to consoles only.

 

they make a game like GTA4, realize they messed up, work on fixing it,

and all they get is "F U,go die plz, its been 2 weeks since release and I cant play it on my walmart computer!" all the while they try to patch it so it runs on them, the release a patch to remove some details on lower end machines, and then they scream "F U you took some of my distant objects details away!!"

 

so the game company says, "F U go buy a console and play it on there...because we aren't making anymore games for PC"

i would agree with you, if i didn't own an xbox 360 and also owned gta 4 on said console.

 

even on console this game is buggy, crashes a lot and suffers from major FPS issues wasn't impressed at all with it.

MY POINT: R* lied about their product in order to make themselves a ton of money. they made a very poor quality product that most of the people cant run, and cost tons of people a lot of money. they are swimming in a pile of cash while tons of people are wasting their time trying to make an unworkable game actually work, even though its R*'s job to make the game work, not the people job. and for this they should pay. if u dont agree, then u have no common sense.

These consoles which those daffodils at Sony and Microsoft refer to (two years ago AND today) as "next-gen" have placed the focus on how pretty the game looks - e.g. "Wow! Look everybody! We've made these toys which allow you to run games which LOOK like PC games of 2004 and 2005...AREN'T WE SWELL?".

 

Truth is: Many agree. Game-play is more important than graphics, but that's not what the preference has been since those bits of sh*t - the X360 and PS3 - hit the store shelves.
