Ashok0
I'm running a Core 2 Quad Q6600 2.4Ghz with 2GB of DDR2-800, X-Fi XtremeGamer, and a GeForce 8800 GTS 320mb. The game gets okay performance in Vista Ultimate x86 but all the textures disappear at any resolution above 800x600. I'd like to run the game at 1024x768 as it still runs smooth (native 1440x900 is a slideshow), but the missing GFX make it unplayable. Will buying more DDR2 RAM help? Or do I need a GeForce card with more VRAM??? Also, is there any way to fix mediocre framerates at high resolutions without buying a Core i7? I don't understand why the game runs so bad at my native resolution of 1440x900 considering Crysis fine on my rig. And I've heard tons of conflicting reports if the game needs >320mb VRAM, >2GB RAM, >2.4 C2Q, or simply a R* patch for the patch. EvilBeanbag545
Hi, I had that same card and had lots of performance issues like missing textures/poppin and loading issues,i had 2gb also, then i got 2gb more(making 4gb total) and got my self a 9800gt1gb card, getting a 1gb card will get u high textures and boy it made a difference,i also switched back to windows xp and it removed the stuttering issue also. You have a great cpu so getting another 1/2gb extra ram will do nicely followed by a 1gb card, hope this helps you. Also post your benchmark results please. Lutra78
More RAM will not help. I have 3GB of RAM and the system (WinXP+GTA4) never uses more than 1,5GB while running the game. What you need is more VRAM. To get rid of the popups without getting a "bigger" Videocard immediately you should not use any commandline. x_orange90_x
u seem to be having the textue issue everyone was having before the patch. since u have a pretty powerful rig, try out either CacheBoost and use the settings i recommended, or try Minimem. should take care of the issue, and very slight if any performance hit. good luck! richiehustle
It's pretty much being airheaded to try cover all the port from XBXbox 0 to PC problems by upgrading the PC, yo fellas I take a look at graphics and I can say it ain't much of somthing of a buzz that really needs a monster machine to run, it's aight but it's not like WOWWWW! okay? so downloading patches cracks and sh,, plus OPTIMIZING textures, scrupulously finding tricky tunings for the game will make it run on whatever.. Pixelated
It's the minimal amount of VRAM on your card. Unfortunately the card is powerful enough but is lacking the large frame buffer newer games really need. Especially shader heavy games.
