st905216
I'm playing the game with okay speed, not laggy, not smooth, but its still playable. But I noticed that I'm only using 345/ 490 video ram, how come it isn't smooth ? Is it because of my cpu ? or do i need to get a video card ? Unfortunleny, your central processing unit is letting you down. If you're looking to change your central processing unit, then I'd say you should opt for a quad core. I would say you should go for a quad core because more and more games are taking full advantage of the four cores. Upgrade your central processing unit, and watch the frame rates go up with a bang. Nugget9
thanks guys, any reccommendation of wat cpu i shud get ? like brand and etc. I would recommend these central processing units: Intel® Core™2 Quad Q6600, clocked at 2.40GHz Intel® Core™2 Quad Q6700, clocked at 2.66GHz AMD Phenom™ X4 Quad-Core 9950, clocked at 2.6GHz AMD Phenom™ X3 Triple-Core 8750, clocked at 2.4GHz The central processing units that I have suggested are all within a budget of one hundred pounds to one hundred and fifty pounds. Choose the one that you think will fit you best, be it budget or what you need it for. Good luck. boselect
q6600 best bang for buck. Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/386719-need-help-with-my-framerate/#findComment-1058797950 Share on other sites
Nugget9
q6600 best bang for buck. The Q6600 is a reasonable overclocking central processing unit, which means you shouldnt have to upgrade it for quite some time. Q9550 is the best bang for the buck, you can get one for about $250 and you are set for a few years easily. st905216
so if i get one of any of thes below, the game will run much more smoother 100% for sure ? Intel® Core™2 Quad Q6600, clocked at 2.40GHz Intel® Core™2 Quad Q6700, clocked at 2.66GHz AMD Phenom™ X4 Quad-Core 9950, clocked at 2.6GHz AMD Phenom™ X3 Triple-Core 8750, clocked at 2.4GHz Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/386719-need-help-with-my-framerate/#findComment-1058799352 Share on other sites

And nobody can guarantee you how that game will run. It will run probably better (as 9600 seems to be the card to have less problems with this game), but there have been too much different configurations having various issues with GTA IV. It's impossible to say. Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/386719-need-help-with-my-framerate/#findComment-1058799424 Share on other sites
