According to the latest UK PC software sales, GTA 4 has climbed back up to No. 2 just behind Football Manager 09. That isn't bad considering we are a nation of football addicts (well the rest of the UK is I am not, it all seems rather gay watching grown men running around in shorts ) :- 1 - Football Manager 092 - Grand Theft Auto IV 3 - World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King 4 - Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3 5 - The Sims: Double Deluxe 6 - CSI: New York 7 - Football Manager Live 8 - Call of Duty: World at War 9 - Spore 10 - Fallout 3 source Not too shabby at all, there may be hope for the GTA franchise on the PC yet. If having problems with the game isn't enough for me, all I see is gay ramblings R* crap port, blah blah, I bet one of you is Hilary Clinton, isn't it ? Well, gay is the one who liked to f*** up and pay for it. All people in here whinning just because they don't like it. So not gay ramblings as you said. If all the people in here could provide solutions to make an unplayable game playable then there is no reason to complain, they could wrote their own games. And only if many complain about something then maybe you can see an improvment. If all people in here seat back and say "well it was a s**t port, so what, I wait next one" and do nothing, then the next game will be worse. And as I know Hillary Clinton whinning for something that couldn't have as Bill gave it to his misstress, not for something that she could have and not working as it is the case here. The fact is I am a normal PC gamer like the rest of you guys and some of the whinging that has been done on this forum has been embarrassing. Right now I wouldn't be at all surprised if Rockstar just said "f*ck it" to the PC format and if you think that is something to celebrate then you are quite honestly the biggest moron on the planet. What actually is moronic is trying to distort reality by suggesting that a QX top line Quad and 280 GTX GPU ought not to eek out anything other than a lousy 25+ FPS. What is utterly moronic is to suggest that a sh*t, half arsed port deserves support and praise to high heavens so that they may one day make another half arsed et cetera. I'll never forget my first personal computer game installation, Horace Goes Skiing and being decidedly underwhelmed, luckily i had a truly next gen title to toy with, the game being Monty Mole. I played GTAIV on the PS3 and was entertained but could hardly wait for the release on the only platform to really take it up a notch, what we got was criminal theft. In all my years of gaming never have I seen such a shoddy half arsed port. Then again it was the pirates what ruined it... Time for honesty for once ...would you trust R* Toronto to port over Pong, no doubt you'll state 32 FPS at 1st service dropping to 10FPS once the action really hots up is a fantastic achievement for such a technically advanced game. You talk about embarrassing, yet seem completely oblivious to how your specious blind praise only serves the notion that you're not being wholly honest with yourself, if not us. Street MixAnd Live, Social Club and SecuROM aren't big problem for those who bought the game. It is a massive problem and absolute disgraceful imposition to have inflicted that rootkit virus sh*t on our machines to play what is essentially a poorly ported 360 game with only ever so slightly improved textures. If anyone is killing the PC gaming industry it is greedy thieving publishers serving up overpriced and below par quality tat. Like the music industry ate itself with their sheer greed, i.e. radioheads experiment of free downloads for a month and you can choose to pay what you want from £0.00 upwards, they made more in one month than all their previous hugely successful albums, such was the stark greed of the music industry. couldn't agree more. regarding to all those who are "whining" about the game, i guess i would be one of them, since after installing it, it wouldn't work, and once it started working (after the 1.0.2) patch, i receive the drunken camera effect for no reason without using cracks or anything. but i guess that would be my fault eh? Game runs very well on my computer which I bought one year ago. Over 45 FPS without OC. But well, I keep my computer on good condition. There are of course some bugs but I don't give a sh*t. All games have bugs. I haven't got any problems with SecuROM (rootkit virus stuff is totally bullsh*t). I would be bit happier if I could run the game without CD. But really, not very big deal for me. Social Club is a nice addition. It haven't caused any problems and I have even watched some videos in the main screen. So overall, I think they did a great job with this game. Maybe because I'm so lucky to have a good stable computer with right devices and so on. Good game. Oh, I guess I already mentioned that. Anyways, I like this game. And if they keep up with same level I will buy their products. Because I want. Now about sales. If Spore is on the list then it hardly measures quality. Hope that helps... Then bench isn't exactly accurate. Barely anything goes on compared to what you actually experience in-game. Going between GTA IV benches and fraps benches I noticed up to a 30% performance difference compared to the bench in areas like Star Junction or standing on the coast of Alderney looking into the heart of Algonquin. Still, nice frame rate despite you paying possibly 3 to 5 times as much for that laptop that I paid for my Asus G50 or my current desktop PC you see displayed in my sig. GTA IV's best feature was the MP, the SP was terribly disapointing, the story, the missions, even the characters... it was not the high quality production i expected. I think Mafia 2 is going to have better missions, story and characters because in this aspect the first one is still better than all the GTA's together. Its kinda sucks to know that GTA 4 sales weren't that good primarily because of poor porting to PC not to mention the bugs and cheaters on the online multiplayer.. I've been playing GTA series starting from GTA 3, Vice City, San Andreas on PC... most of all are Jack Sparrow copies I downloaded (I'm talking about Pirated copies or the illegal way).. hehe.. because most of the genuine retail stores of games in our country has only limited branches which is mostly found on big cities eg. Manila, Cebu and Davao... (I live in a not so big city anyway)... and most all... the price is kinda off the track depending on the popularity of the game which is almost sold at randomly prices.. which I totally hate it for sometimes... But at least, there was this special promo that just started last month... Genuine copies of GTA 4 was already sold for only $3 (around Php 140) that is if you buy along with its magazine (Maxim) which is price at $3 combine with other magazines and get the copy of GTA 4 for free on the designated convenience store.. I was even the one who grab this special promo offer of this magazine since the price was really a big difference compare to the retail gaming store that sells GTA 4 at around $28 (Php 1,300)... and this is also my first genuine copy of one my favorite game series.. here's the image of the promo that really caught the attention of my fellow GTA gamers here in my country...
