bw1231996
Guys the Snow Mod Self Installer is finished! Quick facts before you download: - The installer consists of two installers. Part 1 and 2. Run part 1, follow the instructions, run part 2, follow the instructions. - SparkIV is required but the latest release is included with the installer., - I did find a way to be able to choose your GTA IV install directory so I didn't have to make seperate installers for 32bit and 64bit installers. - A video tutorial is included on how to install the files with SparkIV. - The download is a .torrent file because of the file size. I will pretty much seed forever, and I have a fast connection. Download the .torrent file here: http://www.filefront.com/17829072/GTA IV Snow Mod V2 Self Installer.torrent Reminder: Installer is still in BETA. Report any bugs and/or problems to me. MarkC9
great mod, when its raining why is their not a blizzard/ snow flakes? Except that its perfect, makes the game looks new! Watching the AI drivers spin out and crash is hilarious! There is. You need to use the original fxrain file instead of the secondary one he tells you to transfer. I have no idea why he instructs you to do that, because the standard fxrain that comes with the mod simply looks way better.

pr94
has someone made a snowball script? if so can you show me it please That would be great fun! And i think, it's possible... Just have to retexture a thing that peds carry on street, and you can hit that out of their hands (like coffees, or hamburgers). Then take up with E as regular, and throw! nkjellman
Wow, this has been a while I've been in this topic! Soon a new YouTube movie will be available of my snow mod with again a few bugs solved and maybe a small new feature. A new download will be available soon! Stay tuned Exelent. Cant wait. One question. Will the new version have EFLC support? Also on my game the mod works great exept for the fact that the only way to get into gameplay is by starting a new game of GTA IV. I can't even load saves or go into Maltiplayer from there. Edit: Now that full modeling is possable from the last time you were here are we going to see things like realistic leafless tree branches, leafless bushes, waterless pools and fountans, frozen lakes, and maybe frozen ice around the shore lines? Also are you going to edit the cols of the map so that way area's with snow act like they have snow on them, but areas with out snow (like the booth tunel) act like normal. You should make the areas with snow on them be the sand material and edit it so it looks like snow for the effects. That way when the player walks on it, it sounds like he is walking on snow. Also you should remove the water sound thats occures when there is precipitation. Edited December 22, 2011 by nkjellman
Vintage88
@above Hmm, I had problems with EFLC too but I could get the snow mod working online. There are some files that cannot be modded and brought online... certain files in "common" for instance. I'd stick with textures/sounds/effects only
fastdriver
I tried this out in the moderate and heavy setting.. it was so much fun driving and watching traffic lose control. Knocking down peds and seeing them slide was funny as well. Great, complete-feeling mod

Thundershirt
Is it always snowing in game or just when it is raining? If not, is it possible to make that happen?
The Loot
Is it always snowing in game or just when it is raining? If not, is it possible to make that happen? Rain has been replaced with snow, but you'd have to use a trainer to set the weather to always be "snowing", or the game will just cycle like normal. thunderman00
Amazing mod, love it, with one gripe: vehicles decelerate too hard when you ease off the gas, as if driving through gravel. I appreciate there may be limitations to what's possible via materials.dat - and that it's the most logical way to simulate the effects of icy surfaces.. and also as mentioned above it affects peds (and other objects) as well as vehicles, which is all good. It's just that horrible braking effect i don't like. I've no experience editing materials.dat so i've done the next best thing and edited the handling instead. Thought i'd share it in case anyone else had the same complaint. http://www.megaupload.com/?d=WY8LBZLE What it does: replaces snowmod materials.dat with original (unmodded) materials.dat, and offers a choice of 3 handling files with progressively less wheel grip instead... eliminating the unrealistic "gravel brake" effect. (additionally they limit vehicle speed via air drag instead of hard-limiting top speed, just a general-purpose mod i've used since SA, not particlurlay snow-related but adds to the realism all the same. As an aside i note that the handling.dat provided with Snowmod only lowers the power, which seems a bit of a compromise - cars don't have less power in snow after all. If the intent was to limit wheelspin Racer_S's xbox360emu offers analogue accelerate/brake for all controllers, much better option imho) EDIT: re-did materials.dat to restore tire tracks - http://www.megaupload.com/?d=H956HNH3 Does anyone still have these files? The links are dead, and I'd really like to add these tweaks to the Snow Mod. I love the mod, but I too, have a bit of a gripe with the "gravel braking" effect that occurs when you let off the gas; it takes some of the challenge out of safely bringing a car to a stop in the slick conditions if they unnaturally grind to a stop on their own after releasing the gas. Can anyone help me out here? It would be greatly appreciated. A copy of the grass/tire track fix posted by another use on this board would be appreciated as well, as that file is also unattainable, the link to it doesn't work. This is the link I'm referring to: http://www.filefront.com/17711267/IV-Snow-...---Tomster.rar/ Any help would really be appreciated! ^_^
