Quad 9300 2.5Ghz, 2GB Ram, GF 9600 512MB --- XP SP3

At night with heavy rain my FPS can hit 20FPS , Averaging 30-40 outside. But is this what I get ? My specs are higher than recommended specs Rockstar bullsh*t READ ME.

My opinion is Rockstar get paid by hardware vendor to screw GTA 4 performance, so core i7 will be bought massively by GTA fans

It reminds of when gta 3 came out. It had missing textures, but slowly r* used the same engine in VC. VC is a lot more stable than GTA 3 and based on the same engine. Slowly and graudally it became better with GTA SAN ANREAS.

 

i think what is happening with gta4 is same when it was gta3. the next game will also be based on the same engine.

 

the developers also realize this, but you people must realize people uy gta because of the franchise, not because of the graphics.

 

So i think the next gta (probably by end of next year at minimum or early 2010) will be a lot better. i dont think r* image has been ruined in any way. they know their franchise is sucess in consoles and minority in pc as well.

my pc is about 15 months old , components were on the market 2 years ago. and i run it on high , settings as high as possible im running it 35-40fps ... pretty smooth no crashes or bugs. so no. its not really a lie

I just feel sorry for those that on the advice of a rather dishonest few here may fork out for a brand new core 2 duo only to find the game still runs like sh*t.

 

Some of the systems I've seen bringing sub 30FPS ingame, top end QX quads even crapping out when in that amazing graphical monolith that is the carwash scene.

 

I get 60 FPS in the benchmark, 35-45 FPS ingame...until it rains then 15-25 FPS.
