Making a car fly?

well there is no valuve that detrmines car weight, expect mass, but its only weight compared to other cars.

by the way, i remeber messing one time with the traction and the car was on the air and always flying non stop,but i dont remeber which values i did use sad.gif.

In the handling plane you need to change a value to "4" (7th digit if i'm not wrong). Tis sets the vehicle to "IS PLANE". You can do this easyly with a handling editor wink.gif

I tried that one time with a taxi, but when i got in, i did nothing, didnt move... I must have mestup somehow i think. Damn the website by the YT movie is down sad.gif

The author is supposed to have a blog to show you how to do it, but its always down..

Set the model flags to IS_PLANE

Create a handling plane line (or just rename one to your cars)

Change in vehicle.ide vehicle type to 'plane'

 

My plane just doesn't steer on land, but flies awesome icon14.gif

I tried it on my infernus and the steering seems find but it's impossible to get off the ground because when i accelerate i get no speed..

did you put the Fighter info into the FBI line or put the FBI name into the fighter info?

I've tried removing the car line into a new line on aircraft, but no luck

im gona try putting aircraft line into car line now

results coming

and oh yeah, i finally was bothered to register!

Do you think you could post what exactly you edited..? The lines themselves would be helpfull.

 

I did what you said as far as I can tell what your saying, but the supergt that I changed, somehow turned into the FBI car and wont fly at all..

I manage to get some results. But the car just floats 30cm of the ground. Doesnt really take off sad.gif I can roll myself over, but thats it...

 

I changed this:

 

In handling.dat:

Overwriten the FBI line with the FIGHTER line. And renamed back to FBI ofcourse.

 

And in Vehicle.dat:

By FBI: changed 'car' to 'plane'.

 

Got any suggestion?

 

EDIT: Didnt see post above me. Tried that, but get same results... sad.gif

That was happening to mine also, but it crashed my game as well.. There didnt seem to be any acceleration going on..

I don't know what you may be doing wrong... my plane flies perfectly.

I think the car is working, kind of, but only got it to take of once. It seems it just wont take to the air properly. What controls have you got your set to..? There is no steering also, but in the video you can see he still steers.

 

OK, just tried again and the car totaly refuses TO TAKE OFF.... confused.gifconfused.gif

Now its simply crashing after 20seconds of being in the car.
