Ultimate Graphics Tweak

Recommended Posts

"post your tweaks here"...is it name of that topic? No! So would you kindly stop messing it with other tweaks?

If you're talking to me, all I did was post what your tweak does.

It edits a few lines in visualSettings.dat.

I was talking to kbps. And you have shown only few lines which turn off depth of field. And of course this tweak ONLY edits few lines in settings file but who cares? It works

Is it really that big of a trouble to press ONE key when loading the game?

You already have to click the shortcut, click on Game... what's one little key more gonna change? mercie_blink.gifsuicidal.gif

its not a problem, but it can get annoying after a few times...

Movies are recorded at 24fps and looks extrasmooth because of motion blur so I made the same magic with GTA. Now I must find out how to activate frame limiter, better have constant, fluid 25 fps supported with motion blur than choppy variable framerate

First of all movies aren't smooth because of motion-blur but because they capture real life - which you kind of can compare to infinite frames per second. It's like if you have a video of a game (even without motion blur) @ 120fps and you convert it to 24fps, I'm pretty certain it would look a lot smoother than if it was originally captured at 24 fps. <- Kind of hard to explain but I hope you get the point.

Also a frame limiter only caps the fps so it can't go over 60 or 30 or whatever FPS. It can't limit the minimum FPS you get when your system isn't performing too well.

Nice mod. althought it won't help with about 5 FPS. xD

And for the complainers: Motion blur makes your eyes/brains believe there are actually more frames per second, so it doesnt look like it stutters. Hmm. Ehm.. Hard to explain, but i hope you get the point.

Motion blur is the best graphical feature in Crysis.

lol.gif

It makes even 20fps feel like 60+ fps.

Excessive motion blur and bloom have become the key tools in creating console games these days.

Motion blur = Make that 25fps feel more smooth.

Bloom = Hide those aliased jagged edges.

Wait... i dont get it. The OP is saying to download a program and when you see the pix with it on, everything is out of focus. Why would anyone want to play a blurry game?

Thats like a photographer taking a wedding picture and saying "hang on, let me get you guys all out of focus. ok there we go" *click* and hands you a fuzzy photo with 2 human shapes in it. And then you say great job and give him a big tip. dontgetit.gif

Too much bloom = fail, not realistic. Try looking out the window at a VERY sunny day. You'll only notice that what's behind the window becomes dark and the sky doesn't bloom. HDR. biggrin.gif

I see you don't get it. This tweak cheats your eyes so you receive 20 fps smooth and without chops. I didn't say that it increases fps. It increases "feeling" of good framerate. You can't see how it works looking only on screenshots

Thanks I'm gonna try it right now.. icon14.gif

you sir, talk like a fool. read up on the things you want to comment about if you are going to make it sound like you know what you're talking about. "movies don't use motion blur". lol. first of all, it's more complex than what you're trying to make sound trivial, second of all, motion blur is pretty much always used in one way or the other, third of all, the explanation you're giving has absolutely nothing to do with how movies or whatever look smooth, fourth of all, if no motion blur and other lightning techniques etc weren't used that i'm not going to go into here, movies would look like south park as far as "smoothness" go.

dr.whiz is right. Without all lighting/post processing tricks movies would look like camel's sh*t
