its culture problem(comma problem), hell i set the en culture. Perhaps its not working in your pc. Can you post some of text from handling.dat ?

will you tell me where did you get '000000F8', there is nothing related to 'F'. R* just used 0, 2, 4, and 8, No A, B, C, D, E, F.

 

so avoid this error, open your unmodified file.

I added it for next releases when vehicle format will completely known. BTW, you can see effect when you change CenterOfMass. wink.gif

I've been messing around with this editor, awesome job by the way, and I've come accross a major problem. I'm not exactly sure what it is that I change that causes it, but there has to be a ceiling to the values the game will accept. Most of the time when I try playing around with really high values on a single vehicle then start the game, none of the vehicles operate at all. I can spawn them, get in them, start them, but they don't move an inch. No engine noise or anything.

 

I'm kind of a newbie at this, and I don't know what a lot of the values do, I'm just trying to figure it out by trial and error, but it's hard to pin-point what I'm doing wrong. Is there any way to know what the ceiling for certain values is? And perhaps a description of what each category does in game for newbies like myself?

 

For example, I realize that drive force is probably similar to torque, but it appears a higher number is actually worse than a lower number for accelleration purposes, so I'm kind of confused as to what exactly the value range is. Of course, I may be wrong all together about it's use also... Sorry I'm new to playing around with this stuff, I'd just really like to get into it and edit all of the vehicles.

open handling.cfg or .dat(I dont remember) in notepad and you'll have all descriptions plus their range. As well as search in tut forum or gta4 forum, I'm sure there is a full guid about it. smile.gif
