gta 4 on 8600gts problem

Recommended Posts

i have graphic card geforce 8600 gts, with latest drivers

tried to play gta 4

when i set texture and render on high i cant see anything, theres no building, pavement, theres wheels of cars, but no cars....

when i set it on medium its little better, i can see building, but for example, im driving a car and theres nothing in front of me, but suddenly i hit something, and then a tree appears, or a building, or sometimes it wont show so i dont know what i hit

sometimes when im driving through the tunnel, everything is gray and poor, but after some times there appears a images on the wall of tunnel....

what should i do?

use the command lines to improve the game you can find that here in the forums just look a bit more around also how much ram do you have?

i have a laptop and i don't have any buildings disappearing .

have 2gb dd2

u mean like -norestrictions -nomemrestrict -minspecaudio -novblank -viewdistance 40 -detailquality 40 -shadowdensity 5 -renderquality 1 -texturequality 1....

yup those commands i have 3 gb ram and this is my config:

"D:\Games\Grand Theft Auto IV\LaunchGTAIV.exe" - norestriction -nomemrestrict -texturequality 2 -renderquality 4 -detailquality 30 -viewdistance 20 -shadowdensity 8 -width 1024 -height 768 -novblank

you can try that if you want but you do have less ram than i do i also use cache boost program it deletes the cache system memory giving me more memory for gaming and such also up your virtual memory to the double amount of what you have clean up all your desktop shortcuts that you are not using , disable any programs that run on your background that you don't need while gaming , clean up your registry also , thats what i did to keep my system running great its a bit of trial and error but if you do some good maintenance on your system and if you notice that after all this the game still runs bad add another ram to your system also take into consideration what type of cpu you have if its good enough to run this crappy port or not.

you don't change anything because the settings that i gave you will override the rest just start the game normally without going to settings

the game works fine. no issues with graphics, but the fps has dropped considerably. earlier when i tried to play the game without installing the update and on auto-config, the game was running better. now it has lots of lags (still haven't installed the update).

any way of uninstalling the update? coz everytime i've tried the update, the graphics starts giving me the same problems. i will try the game first w/o the update and in normal mode with graphics set on high and then with update.

will keep you posted. do lemme know if you get any solutions..
