UniversalSoldier
Does anyone know how I can disable shadows in GTA IV? I have observed that my game starts running slow wherever there are a lot of shadows. I want to disable shadows.

salamibaker
Shadows definitely are the FPS killer and since in GTAIV there's shadows everywhere, I would like to disable them. The shadows look bad anyways, so why would I want them to be visible? In ArmA for example I have much better FPS when shadows are OFF, and on top of that the game looks fine. Why there's no possibility to disable that horrendous bloom aswell? I know there's a tweak for that, but the game still tries to process it, which means FPS won't rise. This port just reeks for stupidity. Edited December 21, 2008 by salamibaker

eagle016
My shadows disappeared randomly. I was playing the game (it had dynamic shadows) then I quit it and played Far Cry 2 for a bit. When I came back and played GTA the shadows (dynamic) were gone. I wish I had em still, but I won't mind since I have better frame rate.
kbps
We need some kind of hack to block Shadows and Deferred lighting ! look at this pic, this is what I found in GTAIV.exe
adhome
I disabled shadows. Please look at this post with pictures: http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?showtopic=380830&st=40# If you like to disable shadows, you need to switch of the light. This is because, the Shadows are not rendered. The sun is rendered and not at shadows. To only disable shadows, you need to add a global light, that will light all. PS: Got no change in FPS without shadows. Edited December 21, 2008 by adhome
