Spaceman Spliff
The minimum requirements are just to barely run the game at all. The real joke is the "recommended" specs... Drag_Drift
'Minimum requirements' my ass. I've been able to run GTAIV on my 7300GT and C2D 2.4Ghz. Everything on low, 800x600 and I get 20-30FPS. RonFTL
Minimum requirements = smoothly run the game at minimum settings. But they lied, and I can barely enjoy the game I paid $50 for :-/ As you can see. I am very close to recommended spec... JustCoke
I guess the recommended reqs are for playing the game on medium-high with NOT all the settings maxed out. So, to max out the game, you'll need the following rig: Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550(eventually overclocked) 3GB of RAM Nvidia GeForce 9800GTX, Nvidia GeForce GTX280 or Ati Radeon HD4870 the 8600GT was the biggest joke from the reqs, that card can barely run the game on medium, more likely that most of the 8600GT's have 256 MB of memory. It's not even able to max out. Read [H]'s review. Intel Core 2 Quad Extreme QX9770 CPU overclocked to 3.6GHZ ASUS Blitz Extreme Motherboard 4GB of OCZ Platinum Series DDR3-1600 With GTX280, GTX260, HD4870X2, etc. And still couldn't max out the game... $1,400 CPU right there. read up. http://enthusiast.hardocp.com/article.html...W50aHVzaWFzdA== Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/385687-changing-the-minimum-requirementsq/#findComment-1058785195 Share on other sites
JustCoke
this game was poorly optimized for any type of CPU and GPU, so anyone who is complaining about this port, has its reasons to do it.I'm also complaining about this game, as i expected it to run with 25-30 fps on the lowest settings, but my CPU backed me, so now I am playing "smooth" with 16 fps on fine weather, 10 fps on rain, and 25-30 fps inside buildings. F*ck Rockstar Toronto, we wanted Rockstar North to port GTA IV. @RonFTL:If using the -norestrictions command, you can max the game, but I meant that with that configuration and the -norestrictions command you can run smooth the game(smooth meaning over 30 fps on the worst weather condition), but that seems to be impossible, so even 20 fps on raining weather should be cool, with the condition that the game runs maxed out.
