The file is set to be read only. Find your GTA's common folder, Right click>Properties then set all contained files to not be read only.

 

That will make modding a lot easier.

Hi i want the car to go ridiculously fast! but i can get it to do it, i have increased drag, tg, tf, tv to numbers like 5000000 but still nothing!

so i thought that there is a limit. If there is do you know what that limit is? and if there isnt what am i doing wrong?

i need help understanding the traction and suspension settings, right now i am trying to isolate each option manually through trial and error and its taking alot of time to figure out, im trying to figure out how to take a car and make it faster but not lose alot of traction on straight-aways but also allow it to drift controllably side to side without rolling. also with the suspension settings can they be used to raise and lower cars? i dont know what all the options do or what the units are

To the publisher of this program. CAN you pleaaaaaasseeee tell us what option does WHAT in detail so we won't have to go through trial and error or starting the game every time to figure out what each option does !!!! its getting very annoying without a clear concise explanation. Also in the first page with that guide of options its not even half complete !!!! It doesnt explain the settings in the original program. Lots of things need to cleared out pertaining to what each option does ! so please to whomever the author of this car editing program is update us

It worsk fine on windows xp

but when i installed winows 7 i cant save changes that i made it says accsess denied

is it possible to add something to allow you to increase a range of numbers all at once?

for example:

say i want to increase all the Dc numbers by 1, or maybe even by a percentage?

it would save massive amounts of time trying to get the right damage effects for your own game without spending 15 minutes adding them.

 

Dc +1.5, Dw +0, Dd +1.5, De +1

etc

 

and how about a way to quickly restore a value to default?

handling_orig.dat, pluck the number from there, and restore it.

 

just tossing you some ideas.

 

hmm... how about having difficulty settings, manage multiple handling.dats?

use a comment line at the top to display the name of the installed handling.dat

(#version: Jr's Handling)

(#version: Dad's Handling)

etc.

you could create your own handlings for Joe Jr, when he plays (easy, mostly default), Jim, the teen, he needs a little more challenge, and Me (dad) who wants a real challenge, HARD/

select a version of your handling.dat to use before you start the game, and away you go.

 

i like this program, thanks it helped understand the file a little better.

Hi,

 

Is it possible to change some settings to make the cars easier to drive? For example not to swerve into things just by tapping A or D?

 

My problem is that i cannot get the cars to drive without crashing into things. When I tap A it goes across the road, and when i tap D to get it back again, it goes up the pavement and into a wall or a lamppost.

 

i need less sensitivity to the steering comands.

so i open the handling editor i browse the handling file from my dirrectory .

then i use the bypass with out make backup (btw the only original file from those 3 [dandling.dat,file.txt,filelist.pak] is the file.txt<-

the only original)any way i stop the bypass and and one msg say "cant restore filelist.pak and file txt

so i took them from my backup dirrectory those

files file.txt and filelist.pak

i put them again .. and when i open the program always crashing on load screen ... [sry for my english]

any one can help me ?

I have another question when I enable the bass or whatever it is this works great but my language in gta goes crazy, and there is no bar of amount bullets. how i can fix language problem?

This program messes my game upp. When I started to use it, the game freazes upp on everything, even when I press pause. Why?? Love the consept but editing the handling file for your self was mutch more stable.

dude this fixed mine...

edit the vehicle you want first.

then when you're finished click file then save as then overwrite the handling.dat

then a pop up will confirm to save your car's handling then voila!

no problems!!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

NOTE:IF YOU CAN'T OVERWRITE THE HANDLING.DAT RIGHT CLICK IT THEN PROPERTIES

so Ive downloaded this and tried it and its not faster at all. the old fashioned copy and paste still remains the fastest as with this program you have to do every number 1 by 1 just for a single line/vehicle. am i missing something?
