lancaster77
I've tried the Vista 32bit 181.00 work very nicely. My framrate says 35 fps unlike before it said 37.6. BUT... I had everything to low . Before: Res: 1024/768 View Distance: 0 Texture Detail: 0 Cars: 0 Shaadows 0 Texture : Medium Render: Medium 37.6 fps After 181.00 Res:1440/900 View Distance: 10 Texture Detail: 25 Cars 20 Shadows:0 Texture: Medium Render: Medium 35.5 fps Vista Ultimate Intel E6600 2.4 gighz Dual core 320 GIG HD XFX Alpha Dog 8800GT 512meg 4 gig 800mhz ram I was lagging bad before but now its not as common, only in some areas of the city at certain weather conditions like fog. But very playable now. Thanks for the post as it helped me and how my specs and details help others. Then again there days I play this game without a flaw and then there are days were there is a lot of lag, frames drop considerably. I guess like I said, it depends where you are in the city. GTAander
Tried these drivers, they suck. caused lock ups in GTA and when watching google video. Also I notice that unlike the 180.84 these drivers do not have predefined nVidia profile for GTA. ßombus
This is ass. I have an NVIDIA GeForce Go 7950 GTX, a notebook card, and I know nothing about this sort of stuff. I can't see it on the list, and when I try installing the driver it comes up with this: "The NVIDIA setup program could not locate any drivers that are compatible with your current hardware. Setup will now exit." Could someone help me out? Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/385564-18100-drivers-released/#findComment-1058785986 Share on other sites

qwertz123
Guys guys, they are not released. They are released to developers who want to take advantage of the new OpenGL features. There is NOTHING new for us consumers. opengl 3.0? didn't know the vendors have already released any arb_ extensions. edit: quick search on google: http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/forum/index....showtopic=22290 Windows drivers version 181.00 and Linux drivers version 180.11.02 provide full OpenGL 3.0 and GLSL 1.30 support. The driver download links are at the bottom of this page.OpenGL 3.0 Driver Release Notes You need one of the following graphics cards to get access to the OpenGL 3.0 and GLSL 1.30 functionality: Desktop * Quadro FX 370, 570, 1700, 3700, 4600, 4700x2, 4800, 5600, 5800, Quadro VX200, Quadro CX * GeForce 8000 series or higher; GeForce GTX 260, 280 Notebook * Quadro FX 360M, 370M, 570M, 770M, 1600M, 1700M, 2700M, 3600M, 3700M * GeForce 8000 series or higher This driver implements all of GLSL 1.30 and all of OpenGL 3.0 and exposes the following new extensions: OpenGL 2.1 extensions: * ARB_vertex_array_object * ARB_framebuffer_object * ARB_half_float_vertex OpenGL 3.0 extensions: * WGL_create_context * GLX_create_context * ARB_draw_instanced * ARB_geometry_shader4 * ARB_texture_buffer_object ARB_geometry_shader4 hehe...finally. maybe quake5 then gets offical support for opengl 3.0,,,just so mabye, in 2012 anyway: judging by the facts carmack isn't that interested in this geom.shader stuff and has high hopes for his own so called "octree based mega poly tech" (unlimmited vertices) don't punch me for spelling it so wrong Edited December 27, 2008 by qwertz123 Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/385564-18100-drivers-released/#findComment-1058814888 Share on other sites

PJDiddy
Just a quick newbie post, got GTA for Xmas and installed it last night. Straight away had the keyboard stuck bug, easily fixed by removing the controller but realised that I couldn't see an inch in front of the car! I hunt on the net and found out about the 7900 bug (I have a 7900GS), I downloaded the newer beta drivers however after restarting XP (SP3) I ended up with a tiny res in 4-bit colour!. Same thing occurred after a second re-install. After another google around I found the newer 181.00 drivers and while they certainly don't work perfectly I can now at least play the game. Thought I'd post in case anyone else has the same issue. Main issue remaining is if I try and change any graphics settings after the game has started the I get large glitches across the screen and if I try and get back to the menu I can see the map icons and thats about it, no menu options appear at all. Same thing happens if I flick back to windows and then back to the game. Things can only get better but as I said as least I can play the game!
