GFX Tutorial Archive

Recommended Posts

Images don't load because most of them were hosted on sites such as Photobucket, etc and the images or owners of the accounts are no longer active and the images are binned systematically.

However, I suggest that if you do supply a tutorial, that users need to make it a text format as well, just because of this issue.

HOW DO I POST AN IMAGE on GTA Forums?

The image that you wish to post must be online, either on a website or on an image hosting site such as Photobucket or imgur. You cannot post images directly from your computer or mobile.

The simple way to post an image is to type the image tags thus:

[img=image url]

There must be no spaces and of course 'image url' is a link to the image in your online host account or on a website, not on your PC or mobile.

If you wish to upload several images, this is best done from a PC rather than a mobile device.
First upload the desired image(s) to an image hosting site:

http://www.tinypic.com
http://www.imgur.com

After it is uploaded copy paste the URL (note: it has to end with an imagine extension e.g .png, .jpg, .gif)

Hit the little tree symbol as shown above.

Click "Ok" and you can go ahead and post the image.

IMGUR RESIZING

This is very basic stuff and can lead to some loss of quality, there are better systems but this method is good for a quick fix.

Ok, so firstly, upload your image to imgur. Once uploaded, select the image on imgur by hovering over your username and clicking on 'images' then click on the image that you want to edit.

This should be what you see (only it will feature your image of course).

Ok, so hover over the image and click on edit image bottom right of the image itself.

You will now see this screen:

ytqZDae.jpg?1

As you can see, top right there are your image dimensions. Enter the size that you require and click Apply on the top left. Review your image and if happy, click Save (at the top) and your image is re-sized.

As you may have noticed, this screen also has a useful Crop tool for getting rid of unwanted borders etc, and the Advanced button allows editing of Brightness, Sharpness etc.

Happy editing!

Any suggestions on how to upload these cool club emblems? I tried GTAemblem but they distort. I know it must be possible somehow as lots of MC's have great resolution detailed patches?

GTAEmblem works pretty well for me, have you used the 'advanced settings', or presets for editing your emblem using their service before actually submitting it for upload?

Check this thread, I put a bit of advice for someone who's having similar issues.
