How can you auto-center the camera?

After installing, when I start the game, I have to always control the camera with the mouse.... it does not follow the car. That's kinda hard to do when you are trying to turn 2 corners in a row fast!

I have been all the the options it obviously is a lousy port as all I can see are Xbox controller commands... So can I set the camera to auto-follow behind my car? And is there a hotkey for me to switch views?

Thanks ahead!

You can't.

I don't find it that hard to mouse-look and drive at the same time, I guess you get used to it, but an auto-centering camera would be very appreciated.

I had the problem with the camera not centering and the top left corner showing keyboard keys instead of my 360 buttons, but they went away after restarting my game. This all happend after patching the game and not restarting my system

EDIT

I had no idea that if u played with K&M you get no auto center confused.gif

V will change views. The only way, that I know of. To center the camera is use the in car view. The camera will auto center but it takes at least 1-2secs once you turn the corner in any other view.

Nah, if you let go of the mouse, the camera (kinda) follows you. Thought I was the only one who hated the laggy camera approach..

The camera auto centers, buts i jsut f*cking really really REALLY LATE!

Lets say, you turn a corner, 90 degrees, and drive straight on, the camera will auto center after about 4-5 seconds.

It auto centers, but its just SO SLOW.

All that needs to be done, is to speed up the auto center, so it was just like in GTA3, VC and SA. The camera even auto centered in GTA4 on the consoles, so why the f*ck doesnt it auto center fast enough on the PC.

Absolute disgrace...

I only have one arm. It becomes a game of chance in cop chases with the current car view wink.gif

Disabled people need more support in games, programmable mouses cant save the day all the time

I hate the laggy camera approach, but it seems they mean for you to drive with left hand on WASD, and right hand on mouse.

Unfortunately, I cannot coordinate my hand well enough to drive with wasd and space (handbreak), as I'm used to using arrow keys with right hand and breaking with left hand.

I switch back and forth depending on whether or not the mission requires me to target and shoot while driving, but I'm just suck at left hand driving.

I think the camera was meant to be controlled while driving. I hated it on the 360 too.

Press the "look behind" key quickly. As soon as you let go of it, the camera will be centered behind your car.

This is so annoying especially when you have one of that missions where you must chase a car and stay in some distance behind as if don´t you loose the mission confused.gif

Once i almost destroyed my keyboard in an oncoming anger and frustration attack because of that devil.gif

I bind my handbrake to middle mouse button and use WASD to steer while I look around corners and hit MMB if needed

That's another problem... settings do not tell me what the Keybinds are! It only shows me the 360 controller commands! What's the lookback?

I made my hand brake right mouse button, I'm a lefty and always use the arrows with my right hand, it sucks but I'm kind of getting used to it

The camera seems to auto center much faster when you are a passenger in a car.

When you are in the back of a cab, take outside view and try looking left or right with the mouse. That is what it should have been when driving the car myself imo.

yeah i really appreciate if someone know how to do this.. auto-centering..

cause mostly in foot and in vehicle, i prefer to look forward (center), i only look around when i'm not moving. i get dizzy moving the mouse.

right now, i'm trying to make it a bit auto center by using xpadder. but a mod or trick would be better.

Bump because this is one of my biggest complaints about the game. There should be options or at least a mod for this.
