That's why there's piracy.. the game demos are all cut, so we can't test final features. You wouldn't be able to copy the car at all and that was my point. And a half finished soup is a good analogy for a demo of some sorts, isn't it? It serves to give you just the taste of it. I.e. if the soup is too spicy you may not like it. It doesn't matter what else is in there if you don't like it's (dominant) flavor. I'm curious, how would you go about copying a car? You probably use English a lot better then me and that was an analogy which should show how that previous theory was flowed. You can NOT copy a car obviously and when you download stuff you COPY data. The only way to properly steal the game is to get into some store, grab whatever you can and run. This is why piracy can no be compared with stealing/borrowing cars. Car need to be made and each physical copy costs money the investors are liable for. Copying data is a whole another matter. Of course, I'm not saying piracy is a good thin, let' just put things in proper perspective. Please PLEASE don't blame Rockstar for this. Blame Take 2. I blame Santa. Fat f*ck. My personel opinion is, that every game released should be buyable easily through the internet by direct download, a Demo should be available for any game, giving us a change to see performance and gameplay in action on our own rigs. The games downloaded should have reduced cost. reasonable if you dont get a DVD and cover, that costed money to make for them. And since you have an account, reinstalling just means redownloading. Maybe one day they will get the message. People should not pirate games because it will just kill the PC gaming market, and I believe in owning software for the PC rather than being stuck with useless console DVDs and obsolete console boxes. What really makes me laugh is the fact digital download editions are usually more expensive than a retail boxed copy, why? you're getting less for your money for gods sake, digital downloads shoulfd be half the price at most, as a former manager of a well known games retailer, I know much of the price is made up at the shop end, not the distributers as they supply good at decent margins such as 50-60% of RRP. Doing such a thing is every individuals choice but I am just thinking it would be a good idea to hold you tongue and not say you have. I am glad that piracy in this topic is left open and not locked but I think it might be prudent to not directly admit to using the pirated copies. Or you can just get behind 7 proxies and think you are safe when someone decides to track you down because you admitted to breaking laws openly. Perhaps I am speaking out my rear but I read this thread and just think "Wow, the boldness. These ppl think they will never get caught no matter how loud they say they are breaking the law" I just think that it would be reasonable for ppl that actually pirate software for any reason to keep it quite. "out of sight, out of mind" sort of thing. Thats what pirates are supposed to do right? Stay hidden so they dont get caught. that's not really how it works. i can tell a police officer that i use pirated software to his face and he obviously ain't gonna do anything about it. and just by admitting that you use pirated software is not exactly enough for someone to actually look into it for real. these people are everywhere, it's never been about it being too hard to catch them, it's always been about how there's too many of them to catch. besides, i don't think people that download stuff for free consider them selves criminals, so why should they act like one. The topic seems to have run it's course and for those that pirated the game I hope you enjoy it because you are the ones responsible if the PC never gets another GTA.
