Lord of the Flies

There isn't an option for ATi users without problems that don't use those specific cards.

Same problem. 2 PC's with radeon 3650.

I contacted take2 europe support and talked with some indian fellow who had no solution to my problem. I have also written an email to the online store i brought the game from, and told them that i wish to return the game as it is not working correctly and that i want a full refund.

I hope it will work:

The game doesnt work as its supposed to.

I had no chance of knowing that as a customer prior to buying the game, as my computer meets or exceeds the minimum requirements.

Patches and driver updates has not solved the issue.

The game is DOA.

And, i would also like to express how much i detest the developers and their management for creating a graphics engine that looks and performs worse than Half Life 2 even though that title is 4 years older than GTA4. So to everyone who like me thought that they had learned something after making their horrible GTA3 rendering engine, that spend GPU time rendering objects that werent even visible causing world class CRAP performance.... Rockstar cant make engines for sh*t.

Im never going to waste money buying any title in the GTA franchise series again.

I clicked on your link and found this paragraph especially funny and true... "AG: Not having to consider a second platform in development is always easier. Concentrating on the PS2 gives us a consistent platform across the entire team. That way, when one person finds a certain part of the game slow, we can be sure everyone else will and do something about it. In some respects this makes things easier, but...well, you can't make up excuses anymore."

3.0 GB RAM

The 2600 IS getting a little dated. But its a crappy solution to this problem sad.gif

Anyway, took the game back, and got my money back. So now im happy, though i would rather have been without this experience.

Maybe some day when R* can also get an award for game engine and not just game play, i *may* buy another GTA game. Untill then, i will just advise people to spend their money otherwise, instead of only listening to IGN and other reviewers who give top ratings to this kind of crap.

Hi not a ATI owner but, have you tryed turning this off, if you have got it on.... direct3d alternate pixel center ( disabled ) or if it is off try putting it on since it changes where the center of each pixel originates.... more likely be on

only other thing I can think of like the NVIDIA Control panel you can make it control your settings instead of the program, if so try letting the program do it....

http://www.tweakguides.com/ATICAT_1.html is version 8 cat is on isn't it?

I think they are "No - With ATI other than 26xx or 36xx" as this option is not in the poll

That's indeed a possibility. I noticed too late that I forgot to include that option. I couldn't however edit the poll anymore

Have this problem too on my :

- HD2600XT

- with DirectX redist Nov. 2008 <- I'm starting to suspect this as the source of the problem, since my home-made game also getting z-fighting problem with it's textures, but not on nVidia cards.

Maybe I should by a nVidia GPU next month ...
