Specs: XP 32 bit, SP3 Sapphire Radeon HD2600XT 512 MB DDR3 VRAM 4x1 GB Kingmax DDR2 800 (but surely this is not the cause) 8.12 beta ATI driver (changed back from 8.12 final, doesn't helps) MSI K9N Ultra motherboard, nforce 570 ultra chipset (driver pack: nforce 15.23) AMD 5000+ X2, using with Dual-Core optimizer program (it's from AMD) updated .net 3.5 with service pack 1 The dx9 was installed from the GTA DVD. My advice is that post every drivers you have, maybe we'll found some matches or somewhat. I used many drivers to solve it, but nothing helped. I wager that they will fix this in the next patch, but introduce a whole new series of problems and we'll only be able to play this game in the coming summer before they are done.. I contacted take2 europe support and talked with some indian fellow who had no solution to my problem. I have also written an email to the online store i brought the game from, and told them that i wish to return the game as it is not working correctly and that i want a full refund. I hope it will work: The game doesnt work as its supposed to. I had no chance of knowing that as a customer prior to buying the game, as my computer meets or exceeds the minimum requirements. Patches and driver updates has not solved the issue. The game is DOA. And, i would also like to express how much i detest the developers and their management for creating a graphics engine that looks and performs worse than Half Life 2 even though that title is 4 years older than GTA4. So to everyone who like me thought that they had learned something after making their horrible GTA3 rendering engine, that spend GPU time rendering objects that werent even visible causing world class CRAP performance....
