bp2018
Hi I'm new to the forum. I have it set on 100 and I STILL notice the curb side objects popping in real ugly, only when the games draw AND detail sliders are on 100 do they stop doing this, just curious if anyone else noticed this. Grainy shadows, Lack of AA, I dont notice either since im busy driving, but when objects are magically appearing by the sides of the road in a pixely magical fade in effect it really does hurt the experience. Was just curious how many other people have noticed this.
Judazzz
I'm not really complaining about the performance, especially since my Win Vista machine 'only' has 2 cores, 2GB of RAM and 320MB video memory: pop-ups are rare, but textures do tend to load a bit slowly (although it's not that bad I can't live with it). However, I'd love to be able to fine-tune the graphics better, especially AA and texture/shadow filtering, because the game could look so much better... ArecBalrin
It was only two months ago that a dev said they were expecting this game to run fine on machines that are 2-3 years old. Yes, it's THEY who need to optomise the game; the players can only do so much with it as it is.
BundD
Pentium D is to slow to run gta 4, and 30fps for farcry isn't that good either, sure 30fps is probably playable but its far from "good". No amount of optimising is going to get you above 20fps and keep it stable, hell soon as you hit the second/third island your game is going to dip as low as about 5fps. Minimum requirements are there to be followed not ignored and then complained about. I pass min. on ''Can You RUN It?'' Not possible with a pentium D there would be a red mark on the CPU section, minimum is a core 2 NOT pentium D. In the magical words of the internet meme's, pics or it didn't happen. weedking
Pentium D's aren't all that great a processor. This is a CPU bound game so comparing it to Crysis or the like won't apply since they're all GPU bound games. Pentium D's will perform slower than Athlon 64 X2's normally. Best advice I can give is either stick with what you got if it suits you or get a new processor, like a Core 2 Duo.

As for bundD, I apologise, there is no way that test should of given a pass on that cpu, Yes ideally it should run on three year old hardware, but we're only giving advice on how it seems to handle pc hardware at this time. Unless a magical patch comes along that drastically reduces the cpu use I doubt you will see much of an improvement.
TheGamerXxX
Im not sure if anybody posted this But 2GB ram with Vista? That's probably it since Vista runs poorly on 2gb or less... try upping 2 more GB of ram (around 60$ish) Luke

creat3d22
Well 25fps is the same as PAL TV, and it's 1 fps more than movies... so unless you think movies go too slow, 25fps is pretty acceptable.
