The "Let Sleeping Rockstars Lie" achievement is transferable; meaning that if you kill someone that killed a R* dev, you'll get the achievement.

Also if you killed someone who killed someone who killed someone who killed someone who killed someone who killed someone who killed a rockstar developer?

Yes, it's like being bitten by a zombie that has been bitten by a zombie that has been bitten by a zombie.

i loaded up the game b4 said mission and completed it, the achievement counted, but i lost other achievements like under the radar. No big deal I thought, however when I fly under the bridges now it does not count them, do you guys think rockstar will be able to fix this without everyone having to restart the game?

This problem has been around since a few weeks ago, the only way to solve it, I found via the GfWL forums:

there is currently no way to restore your glitched achievements unless GfWL client gets and update. Like I said before, the only thing you can do is save before the achievement is about to unlock in a spare save slot. To restore your achievements, simply delete your local profile, then retrieve it back from the servers to manually force it to sync. After that, copy your saves from the folder in "<Local Disc>:/Documents and Settings/<User Name>/Local Settings/Application Data/Rockstar Games/GTA IV/savegames/" to the new, empty folder. In order for the new, empty save folder to be created you must start a new game and wait till you slear the first cutscene. Do not exit the game while doing any of these or it may be out of sync again. Just Alt-Tab out.

More often than not, though, the achivements you get won't stick. There is almost a 50/50 chance that it will or will not stick. To check if it's in sync, do thse two things: 1. Check that the number of unlocked achievements stated in the "View Games" list is in sync with GTA IV PC's achievement list, 2. Check that Xbox.com displays that the achievement is correctly unlocked. If they are not in sync, you MUST delete your local profile and manually re-sync it, as it means it is glitched.

Alternatively, one Microsoft Support article also encourages you to get a new Games for Windows - LIVE game or demo and play it to get the GfWL client to sync with the server side. However, this may not work, so try it at your own risk.

Works!

I'm pissed of by the buggy achievements too. Who has tried the suggested solution? Did it work? Do I have to fear losing my progress? (Of course I will backup the savegames)

That should be the solution, but WHERE do I delete my local live profile? I think he means the live profile right?

I renamed this folder (same as deleting) but it didn't work: C:\Dokuments and Settings\Username\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\GFWLive\

EDIT: In the Start Menu you can open Microsoft Games For Windows - Live and there is an option to delete saved profiles .. this should be it, but it didn't work. Now there is the option to delete it ingame, but I fear this will delete the whole account even online, and not just the local profile, as it isn't specified...... what to do?

Using the games for windows live client found in the start menu, I noticed there was a setting to clear stored profiles. After clearing out my profile, i had to resign in while loading the game. Well, after resigning in it still showed me the stuck achievements. I think the bigger issue could be with the way how the game manages live profiles and how it communicates with the live service

Atleast both the windows live client and the xbox gamercard site shows the same number of gamerscore yet ingame overall has a higher number due to stuck achievements which is getting annoying

I got the Let Sleeping Rockstar Lie achievement again. Had it for a few days, then I went to play on my 360. Came back to the PC and the achievement was gone again. confused.gif

I believe the LIVE Team is aware of this issue.

I have forwarded these issues on to the proper people internally.  When I say the proper people, however, please keep in mind that I mean the people who can ascertain where this problem lies and follow up on it - not necessarily that it is an issue on this end, or on Rockstar's end, or on any end.  Basically, I can't tell you for sure where the problem lies, but I've sent it to the people who can.

hopefully, the fix they do provide will correctly sync our ingame unlocked achievements to the currently locked ones on the gamercard site. Right now, im missing about 200ish points and i restarted the game enough times to attempt to get a few achievements which just seem to be stuck in a stuck mode

Same problem here.. Some of the achievements that didn't stick are ones which you get for completing a certain mission, so I definately won't be getting those anymore xD

the problem I have is that under the radar is stuck, its not a past mission and can be reattempted at any time. however when I fly under any bridge it does not count them i.e. cannot redo that achievement.

Has anyone got around MY SITUATION with the deleting profile workaround?

I got credited for doing Manhunt and One Hundred and Eighty on my PC only; then about three days later they both disappeared, they never got credited on the Games for Windows site… I had to re-load from a previously saved game to get both of them again (by redoing the last Most Wanted mission and playing Darts again)… luckily, I save all of my older saved-games in separate folders… both of them registered after that without any problems. I haven’t had any other issues with Achievements not being credited.

Finally I finished 100%, and got all the singleplayer achievements

I deleted my profile at least 8 times to redo those unsynced achievements

As far as I know, G4WL uses UDP protocol to transmit data(all these ports listed on G4WL site)

That means any temporary connection issue between client and server may lead to data losing

Why won't they use TCP protocol? Any lost package will be resend in this protocol

I have completed these achievements yesterday they are:

"Pool Shark"

"Courier Service"

"Order Forfilled"

"Cleaned the Mean Streets"

"That's How We Roll"

I know I have completed these because a message at the bottom of the screen pops up (and btw I have not cheated in anyway in the game).

However, even though i am getting these pop-ups my gamerscore does not increase. I don't know why this is - i have checked in-game and also on the xbox.com website - the achievements do not appear there as if i have not done them at all which is disappointing.

My gamertag is "holymongol".

Anyone else have similar problems?

The same thing happened to me yesterday.

Lost Pool Shark and Finish him! mad.gif

How do u get the Finish Him achievement. What buttons u press for counteratack?

you press space when someone is about to hit you and thel lmb to counter.

Any update to this issue?

I've read at the GfWL forums that the developers team is aware of this problem and they are working on it. But they said, it's very difficult to reproduce this issue so they don't really know yet, how to fix it.

ok, when i kill a pigeon and i dont save my game, will it count? or will i have to kill it again and safe it.

You get this achievement when you've killed "200 of 200 pigeons" in one of your savegames. The achievement system doesn't "count" your pigeon kills (e.g. 100 pigeons in one savegame, 100 pigeons in another savegame = achievement), the point is, that your statistics say "200 of 200 pigeons killed".

Anyway, you will keep your achievement once you've gained it. Reloading the game doesn't affect your achievements.

BUT there is this bug, that you could loose your achievements again. So I highly recommend, that you save your game in a seperate slot shortly before you gain a achievement which you can't redo again without starting the game from scratch (e.g. pigeons, exotic export). Save your game before you kill the last pigeon. Whenever you loose this achievement again, you can reload this savegame and quickly kill this last pigeon in order to gain the achievement again.

i think they said the disappearing shouldn't happen anymore.. and to get back the disappeared achievements you need to do some other achievement and the ones that disappeared will come come back

This problem has been fixed now.

Additionally, GTA IV PC would not show up on my Xbox 360, now it does, and so do all my achievements. I believe Rockstar and/or Microsoft have noticed the problem and finally fixed it.

and WARNING! If you have GEARS OF WAR WINDOWS and you delete your profile to fix the GTA IV PC Glitch, you will lose campaign progress and online statistics on Gears of War Windows. Since this problem has been fixed, you might not need to do this anymore.
