Before, it usually took 4 or 5 character art screens before the game loaded, now it does it in 2. No more, no less. The game seems to be a bit smoother too, but this could just aswell be a placebo effect... No problems with sound or anything. Yet. EDIT: Oh, yeah, one thing it did. It added console buttons as confirmation on the paus screen, so now it flashes between buttons and keyboard keys... Until yesterday I managed to run the game with OK fps, 25-30, starting the game with parameteres. I've installed the patch, loaded the game, started a 3* police chase, and the fps is dropped to 15-20. F*cking great. I've been very patient, I haven't expected that the patch will contain a new graphics engine, but for f*cks sake: it nearly halved my fps! It's ridiciulous. The only problem i have is that after about 30 mins it gets choppy so I really hope it doesn't arse everything up. I have every possible configuration and tweak that can be applied to XP SP3/3.5 SP1/2008 c++/180.84 (rev 3). I have no viruses and no hacks. I cannot start my computer. Before that , I could not log onto the internet. In the thread I posted that was locked, someone replied with this sweeping generalization “Games do not crash computers.” ORLY And then this Calm down, it’s only a game. Yes I would agree, except that ‘games’ usually take up only an hour or two of my time a few nights a week, and not completely crush my soul and deprive me my will to live. SEND THE GAME BACK TO ROCKSTAR AND DEMAND YOUR MONEY BACK (POSTED MINE THIS MORNING) This has to be one of the worst games ive seen in a long time..full of potential but unfortunatley the engine doesnt seem to make the most of pc resources. When playing the game, doing missions and/or playing online... at some random moment the game freezes & crashes. Thanks alot R*... quickly produce a patch that is worth sh*t. You guys are just pure genious' when it comes to advertising and building hypes (for your console games), but when it comes to PC gaming you just give us a lousy port with a rushed patch (which doesn't do anything at all). Also, i'm not getting RESC10 errors. And shadows stopped flashing and my 1950 renders the car deformation properly. Ran the benchmark - pre-patch = 54fps, post-patch - 27fps. And in-game it ran like a dog too, and no sound. I have read on here of sorting the sound thing, and just wondering if that was causing the drastic performance reduction. Just reinstalling the game again, as couldnt see a way to remove the patch.
