10

10

2

no clips, game works without problems...sometimes a bit lag (if allot of action is going down...)

and i use the program chache boost...begore that the textures were all blue

if you have a sh*t PC it is logic that the game is lagging or somethig. "lol the patch works gerat" <--- meaby on a 300$ pc. I have a great PC i have the patch and the newest graphic card drivers and i cant sill play PC GRAND THEFT AUTO 4 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

Benchmark after the patch:

Statistics

Average FPS: 34.57

Duration: 37.06 sec

CPU Usage: 94%

System memory usage: 63%

Video memory usage: 70%

Graphics Settings

Video Mode: 1152 x 864 (75 Hz)

Texture Quality: Medium

Render Quality: Low

View Distance: 20

Detail Distance: 25

Hardware

Microsoft® Windows Vista" Home Basic

Service Pack 1

Video Adapter: NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTS (640mb version - power upped from 513/792 to 600/900)

Video Driver version: 180.84

Audio Adapter: Speakers (SoundMAX Integrated Digital HD Audio)

Intel® Core2 CPU 6420 @ 2.13GHz (really running @ 2,5GHz)

+ Memory: 3 Gb - 800Mhz

First of all - why the hell is it using only 63% of the memory? I checked that when the game is running, Windows uses at max 2 Gb of the memory?! Memory leak issue then NOT clearly solved with the patch..

And the fps drops sometimes as low as 19fps and is constantly something around 20-25 when driving and 30+ fps on foot.

I guess I should be happy, that it runs even that well, but I can't help feeling disappointed, because my system isn't that old and not exactly poor in performance either biggrin.gif This thing just keeps making a great game a lot less entertaining, that it could be...

Hope another patch comes SOON.

Well, I didn't have much of improvement on my FPS from all the methods I tried and the drivers I installed. This patch did improve the smoothness, and removed any stuttering. and the loading time is real quick, as well as when I exit the game.

My specs:

Intel Core2Duo @ 2.0 Ghz

3.00 GB Ram

Nvidia Geforce 260 GTX

I play on High @ 1400 X 900 resolution. The 2 sliders are kept at 20.

I get 30 - 45 FPS indoors. and outdoors 10 - 25 FPS, even on medium or low settings.

I'm guessing my processor is not allowing me increase my FPS.

I'm not exactly sure what you mean, but... 32-bit Windows can assign 2 gb per process at maximum. Since 2 Gb is 66% of your total memory, 63% usage seems fine.

- Slight increase in average framerates.

- Memory leaks reduced considerably.

- Able to tweak settings without framerates suffering.

- Benchmark test still crashes.

- Still forever loading screens.

- Framerates still temperamental.

- Black squares still appear every now and then.

- Textures still going crazy ever so often.

Ok, my bad then completely smile.gif I'm thinking of uninstalling the game (to get rid of the patch) and then install it again, as it seemed to run better without it considering the fps..

And I meant that when I'm running GTA (and the the few basic processes running with it) Windows is using altogether 2 Gb of memory. So GTA isn't using even the maximum 2 Gb, that a process can use in 32bit Windows.

This is so stupid, i wait all this time for a patch to fix the memory leak, i install the patch . . . and now the game crashes just after the gtalaunch window. It was working perfectly all this time, i could play for an hour or so before the memory leak made everything chug, but enter R* long awaited patch . . . . now it crashes every single time. Patches are supposed to fix things not make games unplayable.

My results... tested at 2.4ghz CPU core

Everything at lowest 38fps @ 1680x1050

Everything at highest (using the no restrict command line) 28fps @ 1680x150 which is 1fps slower than it was pre-patched nervous.gif HOWEVER not much popup texturing on distance now so thats summit i guess rolleyes.gif

Overall little noticable change, guess the tweaks were more for ppl having texturing issues etc than us folks that wernt sad.gif

If you get "Signed in он LIVE(offline)" .. then a prompt to update patch from GFWL in game .. you try ... it does nothing, and it gives you an error number .. and your stuck with that in a loop always offline even when you try to login, simply download the patch manually and install. This will then after patching give you live login back again no problems.

The best location I have found for speed and reliable download (some links here to German site I got constant corrupt zips / re-directs ... and some other strange things):

>> HERE - Enter any age more than 18yrs - and you get the patch <<

Hope this helps ... if this could be put in the first post then great. If this is a repeat i'm sorry this thread is rather large.

Funny paradox ... login to GFWL to get the update ... you cannot, sorry, you haven't patched in order to login ... although would you like the update? ... ok, sorry you cant login, you need to patch .... would you like the update? ... cry.giftounge.gif

It might be the program that you can take videos with.

It's already been confirmed that the file was not there pre-patch, so if you couldn't take videos before but can now, you're probably right. Otherwise, we have nothing but our undirected speculation, which says 'ZOMG PS3 emulator'.
