6. Go to WINDOWS (with ALT-TAB) after GTA 4 menu has started and CLOSE PRIME 95!

7. GO BACK into GTA 4 and HAVE FUN PLAYING!

ATTENTION: Sometimes it happens that you have to start gta 4, 2 or 3 times to get in... so dont give up, if it has failed the 1st time to start gta!

STEP 1,2,3 YOU HAVE TO DO ONLY ONCE!

STEP 4,5,6,7 YOU NEED TO DO EVERYTIME YOU WANNA START GTA!

TO ADMINS: Because this procedure is really working on most computers, please make this a sticky post for users with ATI RADEON graphic cards!

Hope it helps some people,

And what exactly does it do? Absolutely nout for me. Still running steady average 25 fps with high settings (range from 20 - 40; to 70 indoors), no fps increase. Oddly my game runs much better with High settings than it does with medium even tho options says warning 810/498 video ram.

Heres what it says it does:

The first-class test routine for the complete structure of Main board, CCU and main memory. Who over-clocked its computer too much, an error message gets from Prime95 in the test, without Windows or another program of it takes damage. So the computer can be brought by the calculation from prime numbers to its stable borders.

I dont really trust that would help for a PC

This is beyond pointless. How an application designed to stress test your CPU is going to somehow make the game more stable is beyond me... Just another pointless suggestion that has no basis for working.

I'll tax my CPU as hard as possible for a while, with GTA running... yeah that'll make it work!

I'm not sure why you would expect a framerate improvement, the thread title clearly says "FIX FOR CRASH".

Prime95 is a tool primarily used to test stability of overclocks and such. If anything, it's going to make the damn thing crash faster than normal. Some of the effects of using Prime are that is stresses weaknesses in your overclock (or just plain stock CPU), such as incorrect or insufficient voltage... That sort of thing, not to mention it'll make your CPU heat up nice and fast.

Ooh, snake oil.

Please, don't make topics like this and act like it's factual information (ask for pins etc). This would have about the same effect as clutching a lucky charm while starting the game.

If for some reason your game works when you do this there's something else at play and you need to research more to figure out what's really going on.
