Do you have some issues with people trying to make tools for this game? Is it because you cannot run the game and therefore not use this tool when/if it is released? If this is all crap no-one will ever listen to him again so he's only crucifying himself, and as a developer myself I understand the principle of planning out what you want and need to do, and then researching until you've done it! I think its great that he's trying something that may improve our enjoyment of this game in the future, although I would be inclined to suggest that any modding engine he puts together is done so in a *very* modular way, so that code can easily be updated should game patches break it. I've tried various settings and found that 16 looks much better in the daytime and doesn't come at any performance penalty. As always, your mileage may vary. Galandre, currently it does what the commandline can do. However people have already found a way to edit the bloom levels, which I tried and worked. Now im just making a easier way to do edit the blooms levels. I'm currently just spending my time looking through the files and packages for any more settings/options, they are there but stupid R* likes to encrpyt them so its taking time and im finding a way to trick it. I'm not promising any major features, and im also trying to make this in a useful mod tool. The game has all the files to edit car traction and stuff so the potential for some modifications is there. If you don't like this then don't comment, And what am I claiming to do that Im not doing? All those features Im wanting to add to remove shadows .etc I dont know possible and if you read my first post i mention that. But if theres anything to edit in the R* GTA IV files im gonna try to make sure its in this app. Btw, I dont spend much time making that, apps like the one above with its 50% functionality right now only took me 15-25 minutes. Don't you dare think you can comment on programming because Im pretty sure I have a much more vast understanding about it than you. And GTAIV did run for me, not as well as I may have wanted, wish I could have got a bit more resolution but now im running perfectly fine in the settings in my sig. This should of been ingame, but Rockhard screwed themselves by NOT adding these features... Instead they say "next gen" and Next Gen is DX10/11, OpenGL 3 or 4... GTAIV Tweaker * Please note that not all features in the screen shot work yet. - The minimize button minimizes it to your system tray to reduce clutter. ------------------------- Not Working Features: - World Shadow Map (Don't know if we can change this, but im looking hard). - Reflection Map (Don't know if we can change this, but im looking hard). - Bloom Level (Need to find a tricky way to do it with less work). - Trick Encrypt (Hopefully will make this feature trick GTAIVs stupid settings encryption). - Embed Settings (Linked to Trick Encrypt). - Disable Shadows (Don't know if we can change this, but im looking hard). - Runtime MOD (Scratched out because this is coming far down the road, probably will be my attempt to make a easy modding interface). - Ill also be making a Rewind feature so if you change/mod a bunch of crap and then you realize its all buggered up you can click Rewind and undo it. Pretty much just a backup making feature that will backup files before you save over them. - Ill also show the Distance and Detail sliders number between the arrows, stupid mistake I didn't add in there yet. ------------------------- Screenshot: Sorry to break your heart but its not ready for release yet.
