Any Idea's ? It says where to put your music and it will work. it also says that some songs may need to be converted. M4A support need itunes or quicktime support. sjaak327 Posted December 12, 2008 Share Posted December 12, 2008 I listen to Metallica a lot in game No cradle of filth I'm afraid, but I'm always open for suggestions For vista you put either your MP3's into C:\users\username\documents\rockstar games\gta iv\user music, this can also be a shortcut to a folder or actual songs somwhere else on the filesystem (who would like to have duplicate songs on their harddrive, waste of space). XP would be c:\document and settings\username\documents\rockstar games\gta iv\user music. In the game, you go to audio, and choose the appropriate scanning mode, I have used both auto scanning in combination with a quick scan (on Windows 7) and complete scan (on Vista, where somehow the auto scan didn't properly scan everything), you can also set the independance FM mode to either sequential, shuffle or radio (including commercials and dj's). I'm running GTAIV since today on Windows 7 X64 build 6801, I tried to install it last week (when I first got the game), but of course the install program of GTAIV (not social club, that worked fine) wasn't liking the OS. Tried in compatiblity mode (VISTA RTM) same problem. As I was anxious to play the game, and since I have Vista x64 on the same machine, I moved to that OS and installed it there. Earlier today, I tried to install it on Windows 7 again (just to see how it would perfrom and used windows XP2 as compatiblity mode, this fixed the install issue (DUH I hear you say, yeah I should have done that in the first place !). Anyway, using the same drivers as on Vista X64 (the beta 180.84, as the official drivers for my card would not display textures correctly both on vista and windows 7), and it runs pretty similar, but the comparison might not be completely justified, as the vista X64 install has only GTAIV and required programs for GTAIV installed, nothing more, Windows 7 has much more stuff to run, so I guess if I tweak it a bit, I might get better performance on Windows 7, as it performs in general, better than Vista. I thought I mentioned the shortcut thingy, but anyway, I simply have one shortcut in the user music folder, pointing to a folder which has all my MP3's in subfolder by album, works absolute fine. The milage might be different, as I said on Vista I needed to force a complete scan (over 1300 songs, so it took a while), in Windows 7 a quick scan seems to be enough. Megadeath and Motorhead don't fall into that category either. Not too found of Pantera, and I honestly don't know Samhain. Metallica of course is the best of the bunch for me, after 5 real classic albums and a few albums that were just ok, the last (Death Magnetic) kicks royal ass again I have to say, that metal does best whilst playing any GTA.
