In the game I can only kill pigeons, 'cause there's no missions to do and there's no emails from brucie

I'll look for something to do, and I put here a solution if I find it ^^ and I'd be very grateful if someone send me a email when you find a way to pass through this mission =D

Hi!

I had the same problem but I fixed it.

So I searched for a Tweak for GTA 4 and I found this link on youtube

http://de.youtube.com/watch?v=0sdQcZsxUXE

It tunes your GTA 4 but it helped me to continou the mission and the game. So follow this description in the video and when you start GTA 4 you have to make all graficoptions set on low. Start GTA 4 playing and start the mission. I hope it was helpfully.

Sorry for my english but I hope you can understand it.

I remember on San Andreas PC I got stuck forever in a cut-scene because on high settings acar was slightly bigger than on low settings (different model) and so got trapped in a garage. I don't know the solution to this problem (passed the mission ages ago), but perhaps try different graphics settings.

It might also be that the dealer's car is not stopping EXACTLY where it needs to for some reason. Perhaps you could also try ramming the dealer's car around a bit to force it onto the right spot, or clearing something else out of the way so the car can get to the right spot.

I had this issue too until five seconds ago. I've tried messing around with the number of times the dealer is spooked, number of mission failures, vehicle type (police or civilian), vehicle location when Manny says to pull up behind him, etc. and FINALLY IT WORKED!!! Here is what I did to make it work for me:

I loaded up my savefile, stole a Primo, and started the mission. I spooked the dealer a couple times, and when he got to the destination, there was no yellow arrow. I threw a greade underneath his car, failed the mission, and retried the mission via phone text message. I did the mission a second time, this time keeping two car lengths behind him all the way up until he got to the warehouse. I didn't spook him at all this second time around, and when he got to he destination (with me still two car lengths behind him), the yellow arrow came up and the cutscene was automatically played (probably because I was parked in the location where the arrow appeared). I'm about to start the mission now, so here's I don't fail it!

Hope this helps! I did this mission about a dozen times to mess around with the variables I mentioned about. This is the second time I'm beating the story part of the game (first time I chose the deal and had accidentally overriden my save file from the mission right before the decision), and I had the same problem the first time. I think I got lucky the first time around and the arrow showed up...

EDIT: If you get the cutscene to load, I highly recommend that you use the health cheat as many times as possible. It's quite easy to die in this mission (ie. Uzi from behind) and because of the bug, you better not die!

I have to yellow arrow bug but only on dates, especially the helicopter ride. Can't take them anywhere and have to reboot the game in order to fix.

Luckily I haven't had this issue with missions.

shoot the f*cker then restart the mission from the cell phone

that's the first thing i did, just kick the f*cker square in the nuts and restart, but none of that sh*t works, but i resolved it,, im sorry but i cant explain how i did it, its just too complicated

please tell everybody who is stuck in the same way how you fixed it. thanks

yes please,do tell.it's not very nice to post that you have found a solution, but can't be bothered to explain it sly.gif

In addition you can (when the dealer stops and the yellow arrow marker do not appear) try to take a bigger car and push the dealers car very carefully behind that gutter on the street... and then when the dealer behind that gutter on the street is shoot at the dealer or something else to end the mission and then retry the mission.

Sorry again for my english wink.gif

Ladies and Gentleman of GTA Forums, I just had to join to share this with you. I have the same ridiculous problem with escuela of the streets and I was in the process of trying out some of the advice listed when I had a bit of a brain-wave.

A couple of the posters here have said to try the mission, fail in some particular way then try again staying two car lengths behind I just about to deliberately fail the mission when I realised- Niko has several different ways of saying it but ALWAYS mentions the two car lengths and I thought "what if I'm exactly two car lengths behind the dealer the moment he stops" (I also did my best to come to a complete halt at the exact same moment as him but I've no idea if that matters). ANYway, it worked and I've completed the mission so my advice is:

Do the mission once and make a note of exactly where the dealer stops, start again and behave however the hell you like but make sure that when the dealer stops you are between him and the fire hydrant which should put you about two car lengths behind.

Swivel the camera and there it is, bold as brass right behind you, the gold mission arrow.

I'd love to know if this sorts it out but I'm not about to waste anymore valuable me time on that loud-mouthed chump so I'm never going back if I can possibly help it.

Good luck every one.

I doubt it has anything to do with specs. Have you tried my fix or any of the others?

My system is a Dell Optiplex GX620, Intel P4 660 3.0GHz, 4GB RAM, Nvidia 9600GT 1GB, Windows Vista 64-bit. Pretty similar to yours.

i completed this mission finally...ok guys...try reducing ur graphics to minimum...my game mode is 800x600(cant remember the numbers well) and aspect ratio is 4:3...screen wont look aligned if u hav a 19" monitor but hey...it completes the f*cking mission...btw...if u hav a 14" or 17" monitor..reduce it lower than that screen resolution..shud work...

and its not necessary u stay 2 car lengths behind him...the yellow marker will appear even if ur 10 cars lengths away...i used a bike instead of a car to follow the dealer to if u still fail with a car try a bike.....hope u ppl can complete this sh*t ASS mission... biggrin.gifbiggrin.gifbiggrin.gifbiggrin.gifbiggrin.gifsuicidal.gifrolleyes.gif

AFAIK you should try and keep very close to him so when he stops his car, you should be where the marker is. Apparently this helps (from what people posted above).

I had this problem, and I am utterly convinced it is a processing power issue.

If your system is borderline replaying the mission again, rebooting, turning down the graphics ettings etc. might help. However, I updated my graphics card, and this problem dissapeared and never came back. Incidentally, I didn't get any more ram on the new card - just a much faster chip set. To be honest, it was well worth the cash for the performance difference anyway. Incidentally, I phoned the helpline, and they thought it was a corrupt saved game file, which is complete tosh.

After spending days trying to stay 2 car lengths away from the target, stopping at the same time, etc. I decided to have a go at dropping the graphics settings to the minimum allowed. The first time I played the mission, after doing so, I followed the car doing whatever I wanted, apart from spooking him, and when Manny said to stop behind the car the yellow arrows appeared.

Hope that helps.

Hello All,

I have just managed to rectify the aforementioned bug in "Escuela Of The Streets" Mission on my computer (regarding no pointer/ dealer refuses to get out of the car)!!! colgate.gif

After much reading through forums I seem to have determined this to be somehow related to a graphical processing bug within this part of the game.

I have been experiencing TOURTURE!!! On and off over the past few months when it comes to this mission; I have Upgraded Computer, Upgraded to a better OS, Re-installed twice and I have had to endure the non-stop whining of that COMPLETE IMBECILE 'Manny' on countless occasions, all of which have not helped in letting me proceed in this game!!! angry.gif

My luck however has changed about 5 minutes ago when I attempted to put in place some advice I read on a forum relating to altering GPU settings, AND IT WORKED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! biggrin.gif The cutscene played and I'm going to try to finish the mission after I share this great news!

NOW HERE IS HOW I MANAGED TO ACCOMPLISH THIS GREAT FEAT!

1st: I walked onto the mission arrow to start the whole mission (Triggering dance cutscene - You can skip this as it is terrible)

THEN: Once the characters are loaded onto the courtyard and M states the need for a car I hit the ESC key and entered the following settings into the 'GRAPHICS' options menu:

ASPECT RATIO - 4:3

"VIDEO MODE" SLIDER (TOP OF SCREEN) 800 X 600 (60Hz Refresh Rate)

All Quality Settings Set To - 'LOW' (Even on options that have a 'NONE' category still hit LOW).

I had to use these options to work on my PC (Just this mission though) but if you had a better graphics card you might be able to get away with higher settings but I'm not sure if this is the case.

HOWEVER THE MOST IMPORTANT THING I THINK IS THAT THE "RESOURCE MONITOR" (Bottom Of Screen) SHOWS NUMBERS THAT DISPLAY AS GREEN (For me this was 209/236MB).

Then I saved these settings, stole a parked car and completed the mission managing not to spook the dealer, and then the arrow and cutscene appear!!!! cool.gif

Give this a go and I wish you all good luck,

Kindest Regards,

Heath.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

PS: I think this situation, as well as being a BUG is also a similar thing that Microsoft did with VISTA - Stating unrealistically small MIN system requirements that in reality are much to weak to (in some cases) even render the program! [This happened on my 1st PC I mentioned earlier].

ie. It will render the game but it won't fill the screen and it will run at the pace of a 1-wheeled Lada!

(A GTA-IV Benchmark gave me approx 5fps before I tried this! suicidal.gif )

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

CPU: Intel E5300 @ 3.2Ghz

GRAPHICS: XFX Nvidia GeForce 8400SE (~236MB)

RAM: 4GB DDR2 800

OS: WINDOWS 7 RC2 x64 (Build 7100)

DISPLAY: Benq FP92W LCD (19in)

GAME: GTA-IV (PC) [no cheats/mod]

Update 1.0.3.0

Update 1.0.4.0
