There is maybe some truth in the post, except that some people with rediculously high end machines are having trouble running it, and others on relatively low end comps seem to sometimes be OK. In this case, I think it's more a bad job of coding than an evil plan. I get what you're saying though, and I think it definitely is a real thing. It's like planned obsolescence in cars. Some are highly engineered and manufactured so that they break down early. But some cars are just crappy.

Alright, I don't want this argument to go on forever, I am in no way trying to insult you or your lifestyle, or trying to imply that I'm smarter or better in any way shape or form. I'm merely pointing out (by punching your face in of course...just kidding..) that you can't label the entire United States of America as "Americans", there are millions of people in this country, each with their own ideals and beliefs. Just because President Putin of Russia says x, doesn't mean I can prance around saying every Russian is a stupid numb-nuts and believes x (not that you do that, of course).

 

But to go back on-topic...

 

Theres a strong amount of hate and tears directed towards Rockstar for their recent PC port..I think it's a fine game, it just needs to be fine tuned. Even my computer (which has moderate hardware) can push out a good 35fps or so indoors and 28-32 outdoors with medium-high config. The problem is that the performance is varying greatly, even on comparable hardware. That doesn't mean that the game is sh*t, it just needs a good patch or two..

Developers don't make games for "elitist pc users" as that would cut sales down to about 10%, seriously think about what you are saying.

 

They do make them with upgradability in mind yes, but they do NOT make them for top of the line computers and expect to sell lots of copies, thats poor business sense.

 

The fact is GTA just needs some memory optimisation and perhaps a little CPU code tweaking as it seems to b using to much right now, most people are NOT on core i7 computers and the game was not designed for core i7 users, thus the EXTREME cpu usage we are seeing is not "designed for future upgrading"

 

Put a little more thought into your posts before you go saying its only for top end machines, especially when SLI support wasn't even included, seriously, how can a game be "designed" to run on top end machines yet not have SLI, it WAS designed so only top end machines can run it full spec though.

FYI, im a member of a very big GYM, and people of my age are infact very intimidated by me. Theres like one steroid junkie whos almost 20, and can curl 2.5KGS more than me. So i would say im doing pretty well for myself.

 

I find it quite funny how i show my achivements, and you just laugh in my face, with nothing to actualy show and counter it. So the jokes on you my fat american freind.

Yes and i totaly agree with you. There are great Americans out there, But there are alot more uneducated, fat pushovers than there are educated americans who can make decisions for themselves. I.E they dont have to be told it on TV.

A Medium-High config on moderate hardware is completely acceptable. Sure, there are memory leaks and some glitches, but that's what patches are for. I doubt R* will disappoint. They have never let me down!

I will agree that there is a difference between PC gamers and console gamers...people should not expect their $400 e-machines PC to run this game. Right now though, the way GTA is coded...system specs mean almost nothing...It has little to do with the quality of your system right now. If you have the magical combination of parts that GTA seems to agree with, then the game runs. Obviously you got lucky and are not experiencing issues.

 

I am running a high end system and the games runs like crap. There is something to be said when maxing out your settings or dropping them all to the lowest level does virtually nothing for performance. This game is not optimized and has serious problems with the majority of the hardware out on the market. The graphics in this game are not that good that, even maxed out they should task a high end setup like mine. A user with an average level system (700-800$ system) should be able to run this game on low to medium settings...Users with high end systems should be running smooth as silk.

 

It is very much obvious that there are major problems...It is apparent all over the internet, when a game that was rated extremely high when released on consoles is now getting trashed in reviews and forums when released on PC. How you feel that all users should be blamed for their poor performance is beyond me. Yes, some, even many people are morons, and expect miracles from their crappy pcs, but the majority of users know enough that this game should not be running this way.
