Stuck at loading screen

Help! Alt-tab has worked for me every time before this one, but now Im stuck at the mission Three Leaf Clover, and nothing happens when I try all the tips that it wroten here.

 

The mission worked fine until I go down in the safe and take the money. Then I see Niko in a videoclip going up again with the bag over his shoulders, and then the loadingscreen appear.

 

So now I cant come further in the game

Is there any other solution?

 

I tried everything but the mission doesn't go and I see only the loading "page"..

from what i've read it seems it's not mission-specific, people are encountering it in lots of different missions

Right. A similar thing happened to me on the mission 'Action Speaks Louder Than Words', but it worked after a few retries. Now, I'm again stuck at 'I Need Your Clothes, Your Boots and Your Motorcycle'. Both these missions are from Gerry McReary. Looks like my game has an issue with Gerry's missions.

hmm I just tried again, got rid of all my command lines like -availablevidemem etc, set everything at low 1-1-1-0 @ 800 x 600 and it loaded fine

 

I guess it's something to do with not having enough memory to load the cut scenes?

In case some of you still get this problem, here's how I fixed it:

 

1. Patch the game

2. Don't use any cheats like spawning a car prior to entering the front yard with the arrow

3. When it loads I unplugged my 2 USB devices (mouse and keyboard). After a longer-than-average load time, maybe 15 seconds, it loaded perfectly into the car chase scene.

Hey,

I had tried everything on here, alt+tab, USB removal etc.

Not sure if it finally decided to work because of coincidence or whether this may be a fix but I arrived at the house and when it asked me to drive to the diner I spawned a helicopter using the cheat and flew there instead.

It took a little longer loading than it normally does (maybe 30sec) but it loaded and started working.

I don't know if it worked because it shocked the system a bit using a helicopter instead of a car but it fixed it for me.

Hi I had the same problem the mission three leaf clover wouldn't load after going down

 

I kept trying and trying and always at the same moment the loading screen got stuck

but then suddenly it worked, I didn't do anything but it ran so I completed that mission

 

I have the same problem for several missions it's quite anoying

Now that the option is available (with the latest patches), turn OFF VSync from the Graphics options menu. That will reduce your loading times considerably.

Solved!

You don't need to patch or update.

Simply dumb-down the graphics resolution a bit.

It works every time.

Felt I had to register to help everyone - that ALT+TAB lark does nothing, one solution works everytime - Get a Bike! It really works, must be something in the code?
