Worked great with the 8.11 drivers on my computer, E8400, HD4850 and 3gigs of ram. Now I installed the new drivers, got a little fps boost, also my game now looks like this: user posted image

Anyone know what could be causing this? suicidal.gif

Oh dear. That doesn't make me want to install and try this driver.

Did you remove your previous driver, use a driver cleaning prog in safe mode and then install the new driver?

Use your control panel to remove previous drivers.

I use this programme afterwards to remove everything when I boot up after removing from control panel.

http://www.pcworld.com/downloads/file/fid,...escription.html

How to use driver sweeper ..

After normal un-install, reboot and press F6 or F8 to bring up your boot menu and go into safe mode (press the key just after bios display)

Run driver sweeper, select ATI-Display/Clean, rebbot and install new drivers.

Anyone else tried the updated avivo converter? Still seems to not be using the GPU to convert, only the CPU. Bunch of people were posting that on 3dguru and after testing I can confirm that at least on my rig. Anyone else give it a try yet?

Got as high as 36-38FPS before.......downloaded the update, selected 'uninstall', then used Driver Cleaner Platinum afterwards. Then rebooted, installed 8.12 and now the game refuses to load at all. The R* + GTA 4 logos show up, the screen goes black and nothing loads.

Some patch.....

I still get the REC10 memory crash thing, on auto settings, and I even lowered my GPU memory options to go green !

Ahh well, the patch will surely fix this wink.gif

Nah, I didn't get any improvement. The texture bugs also did not disappear. I could have stayed with the beta drives. confused.gif

No special mind blowing FPS improvements in GTAIV, for me. Not that I was expecting something after reading the release notes. Maby a hotfix or other driver update from ATI will bring more optimization's for GTAIV.

But still got a 2 a 3 fps increase in the GTAIV benchmark tool thing and less frame drops ingame. The overall play looks smoother for me with the new drivers. So I think future driver releases will bring more happy moments. Also I'm curious to watch the upcoming Rockstar patch will bring us.

1~2 fps increase, nothing really special, release notes don't say anything about IV, hope 9.1 will be better and R* patch will provide what I expected the game to be...
