I bet you can guess which version I think is the best... ... The PS3 version. Seriously, there was no hassle involved in getting this to run, it runs well and it's the best looking version (until/if AA ever gets implimented). Played the 360 and PS3 versions both a lot and the PS3 looks and runs better than the 360. Take into account the PC's 'norestrictions' hassle, lack of image filtering and insidious R* social and MS live components and it wins hands down. And this makes me a sad panda You've never played it on the PC if you think the PS3 version looks the best... Also the Xbox 360 version has less jaggies along with a hell of alot less blue, this IMO makes the XBOX 360 versions much better than the PS3 version, I flogged my copy of GTA IV on the PS3 cause of these things. Some people seem to forget mods too. It's not debatable, the PC version IS the best for so many reasons, not just its the best cause I think so or blaming it on being a fanboy etc.. Can anyone back him up that aa is working with 180.84 beta ? (not the one on nzone) Also can't you people just enjoy the game you bought why do you really need to show someone else why your version is better then theirs ? I remember doing this when i was a kid... some of you should be ashamed off yourselves ! Unless you still cry when falling on the ground and hurting your knee. Must be something up with yer system or OS then as I've played it on both the PC and PS3 and the PC version looks much better. I'm running a 4870, that may be why I'm running fine, the 3870X2 deffo running in crossfire in GTA IV? If it aint your performance will be awful as a 3870 is barely half a 4870. Ok so on the PC I do agree the lack of AA support was stupid, isnt this one of the only games with no AA support ? GTA IV would look a million times better, but Its sat side by side with my PS3 and I can tell you for a fact... the PS3 looks crap in comparison ! Lamposts are not quite like tetris attempts, but not far off. Overall I can run the game at 2560X1600 everything on high, except textures on medium and get an approx 30FPS however even at this resolution AA is needed in GTA Quite large images at native resolution : Image Showing Settings Image showing Screenshot (not the best time of day) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

That brings us back around to the lack of AA though See I played GTA IV on the PS3 on a 37" HDTV and also on my 22" Monitor that I am using right now to play GTA IV on the PC. I still can tell the graphics quality is better, also at the same settings as the console it looks slightly better, this is due to the higher screen res and no Blue O Vision. Rockstar even said the console version is similar to the LOW/medium settings on pc, also I don't know where you've been but the pc gta4 looks A LOT better. Any console game that is released on the pc always looks better on the pc. Basically in other terms it's as if you're denying the sky is blue. more reasons why pc version is better: controller/keyboard modding better online 32 player online fixed clipping customizable radio station video editor cons: massive technical issues $$$ windows live gaming I would like to say that most console fanbois are technologically illiterate, since they just play games. I have to laugh at YOU as you seem to know sh*t and still refuse to educate yourself. If you want to get a PC which will play games *slightly* better then consoles, you need to invest something like 500$ (US). It will be a crappy machine, but guess what consoles are crappy also, so it's OK. I spent 1200$ (not including the screen) on a machine which rapes in performance and functionality any console, anytime. It can be run 24/7 on max, it's powerful, reliable and functional. It's a very efficient tool. IT CAN NOT BE COMPARED TO CONSOLES. It would be like if I challenged Maurice Green on a racing contest. Quite pointless. The price of PC gaming depends on the number of games you play. If you get around five games per year (renting is not a lot better then pirating, wouldn't you agree?) with those silly prices, PC gaming becomes less expensive. Especially in the case of xbox and and that silly golden membership. There are a few details you consolers seem to forget (I blame selective memory) 1. HD TVs are VERY expensive. Yes, you can play on standard TV's, but what's the point on that res and image quality? 2. A lot of console gamers have both consoles (judging by this forum) so that increases the cost considerably. I understand you used quotes around "slightly" but even with you missed. A lot. "Slightly" (doesn't matter how you put it) is just not able to depict the difference between a standard console game and a standard PC game. I understand you think console gaming is cheaper, but it's not. It has a lot of hidden costs and they rare just fooling people. Again, not arguing, PC games are better, I agree. PC versions of GTA and any game always do crap on console version. You dont need to believe me, just read what the companies who make the games tell you. I cant play GTA4 yet really to know but going on past GTAs I did play both console and PC version of GTA SA, which was a much more tried and testing system/engine etc. Draw distance alone is far superior on PC, if you take a trip a long the railway going from Los Santos to Las Venturas and park on the cliff just before the second tunnel, console can barely make out most of the river, town below. PC version can see clear across to Las Venturas. If you think this isn't really important just think about those times your driving along at top speed and a car appears out of nowhere or just way too soon and you got no time to react, draw distance means I see those other cars on PC long before I would of on the console version. Not saying it never happens on PC too, but better draw distance helps a lot and thats just one small part of why PC versions are always better, and always will be. Sometimes like when a console is first released, sure it comes close to a PC, but it never takes long before PC's eclipse them and continue to do so for several more years before another console gets released, the PS3/XBOX 360 arguments are the same as the ones used when it was a brand new PS2, but of course we all found out which one was better in the end. The ONLY things consoles ever have over PC's is price, compatibility. P.S. other day I said I was going and wouldn't be back for a while, sorry I lied. If your paying $3000 for a PC to run games on your shopping at the wrong stores, no way it should cost that much unless you buying the latest and greatest of every single component. I guess if your a console gamer it might cost that much cause you got no idea how to put a PC together yourself, but for most people serious about gaming on a PC probably know enough to build one capable of playing the games they want cause they appreciate the superior game, and the company who made it told you its superior. Even in Australia I can buy a PC for a lot less than $3000 off the shelf and it will run GTA4 and loads of other current games. I could probably spend $3000 right now on a PC but we'd be talking a 3Ghz Core i7, a DDR3 capable M/B and 4GB DDR3 RAM, and maybe even a nVidia Gx280 of whatever the latest video card is right now. I'd also get a pretty decent size HDD with it. How do I know, well I'm not currently able to play GTA4 and I'm feeling weak, started pricing parts today but unfortunately I dont have the cash for a $3000 upgrade yet, will more likely be half an upgrade to get me by till next year. For a screenshot of a game like this, a PNG file has no appreciable improvements over a 100% quality JPEG, and does nothing but over-inflate the filesize. PNG can go eat a dick.
