x_orange90_x Posted December 10, 2008 Author Share Posted December 10, 2008 im not sure about Vista, but in XP u can manually empty your Prefetch data by going into C:\WINDOWS\Prefetch and delete everything in that folder. if u go in there, u can see lots of things that u commonly use, and some things u only used once or twice. it isnt a bad idea to empty that periodically, as i dont think Windows does it by itself. but go ahead and give this a try, it may just work out well for u, but one thing first, try using the settings i just posted in the second post up from yours. good luck Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

reefer191 Posted December 10, 2008 Share Posted December 10, 2008 (edited) Hi i got this game last thursday and have had the no texture sh*t till about half an hour ago my system spec is core 2 duo 2.4ghz 8800gtx 2gb corsair dominator ram windows xp sp3 about half an hour ago i noticed my system was only usein 1gb of ram so i opened my pc n sure enough 1gb had popped out popped it back in and sweet only thing is though after about 20 mins play performance seems to drop game goes a bit choppy and stuttery but textures are all there. x_orange90_x Posted December 10, 2008 Author Share Posted December 10, 2008 @gutihaz, MiniMEM is a memory management program like CacheBoost. @reefer191, thats odd, never heard of RAM "poping" out of socket before.. usually its just seated wrong and doesnt make complete contact. i would still advise u try out one of these two programs tho, as the games performance drop after 20mins is a sign that your RAM is full. the program should correct that issue and keep u playing for hours.. u may be able to run CacheBoost with little to no performance hit, but if u do, and u set the options like i sadi in my first post, use Minimem instead as it seems to be less resource intensive. reefer191 Posted December 11, 2008 Share Posted December 11, 2008 One clip was open and 1 side of the ram wasnt seated in the slot anyway i tried minimem and it stopped the stutter the game seems to play fine now N1 i ran the benchmark with these settings res-1280/1024 tq-medium-locked render-high view distance-63 dd-37 vd-26 shadow quality-3 average fps --29.8 that bencmark was with a slight increse to the quality settings on recomended settings fps--32 makes me wonder how long i bin playin games with only 1gb of memory runnin i only noticed coz cash booster was only showin 1000mb of memory i was playin crysis the other day lol Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
x_orange90_x Posted December 11, 2008 Author Share Posted December 11, 2008 well thats good u got it going! im still getting anywhere between 9-15fps avg with averything on low, shadows low, vehicle density on around 5, 1024x768, and detail and draw distance on 1. if i go up to 1280x1024 i get a little (like 1fps) better as im getting further away from more CPU-intense resolution. my 2gb of RAM should come by Saturday, so hopefully i can get at least 25fps, not expecting it tho. no way around having a P4 at 2.80ghz.. Yesterday I was playing for some time and my textures vanished and I exited the game. I launched it today and everything was fine, I took one mission and bam, again weird textures. How can it be that I have about 30 hours logged in and everything was fine, now textures went to hell? I have 4 gigs of ram and vram usage is not exceeded in options. edit: I haven't done anything, my textures stopped disappering but I've got another problem. Check this screen: http://img380.imageshack.us/img380/4876/31685969wp4.jpg You see those trees? Everything else looks fine, how am I supposed to fix this? I earlier had those NV beta drivers but they made my performance worse, so I switched to the 180.48 WHQL. But I had this problem on those betas as well. Could someone please help mi fix those trees? The ChacheBooster didn't help much (I have 3GB RAM) and I can actually play the game pretty fine without the program running in the bg. However, I still have nasty texture pop-ups. That mostly happens when I move my camera fast (ex. do 180 degrees turn). My FPS usually stays ~21 (not too high but playable). Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
