shazzi2k Posted December 8, 2008 Share Posted December 8, 2008 OK so here is the deal. I have completed most missions i can. Only ones left are the gay guy Bernies quest. When i get to the mission Union Drive after the intro cut scene it just stays on screen loading!. I though ok i will wait it out so i went and watched Spooks on tv. hour later its still stuck on loading. its flashing loading and it has not froze. iceOlate Posted December 19, 2008 Share Posted December 19, 2008 I've had the same problem with that mission, except it happens after the second cut-scene. It gets stuck on loading. Tried it a few times with the same results. The same thing also happened after the funeral cutscene after the Blood Brothers mission. So, I haven't been able to complete those two missions. I e-mailed R* Support for USA and nevertheless they told me I would get an answer within 24 hours, I'm still waiting for them to answer. Anyway, I fixed the forever loading screen issue and I'd like to share with you how I did it: Searching this forum, I found out one of the other members asked for 2 files. Even though someone told him those were copyrighted, another member zipped them and uploaded them. One of the files was loadingscreen_pc.dll or something like that. Anyway, I thought I had nothing to loose trying to replace my original file with the one uploaded, and so I did. I downloaded the zip file, renamed the original file adding "(ori)" to the name -so if I need it in the future, I'll have it- and unzipped the DLL into the folder where the original file was. When I restarted the Union Drive mission, I was able to complete it. It almost didn't show up the LOADING screen after the first cutscene. Directly into the playable part. I'm having the same exact issue... the "Union Drive" and "Undertaker" missions get stuck indefinitely in the 'Loading' state after the cut scenes. I think I got a one I was using 2 SAVEGAME files: 1.autosave 2.my own safehouse save I then removed my own safehouse savegame from the savegame directory and now I play only with the autosave. It helped me get through the loading screen pretty quickly. (I was stuck after the first cutscene in Union Drive) (and I unplugged all my usb devices, for someone said that also helped) PS: the savegame directory is under yourname/appdata/local/gta4.. I got the same problem you had with the Union Drive mission, but I can't find the files you are referring to on this forum. When u turn on computer, and start game, LOAD GAME ONCE from manual saved location (not autosave). Do not try to load game then one more, when u start comp!!! (I tried several times and it's really work). Try this way, it's might be the only way. 3. Here's audio config for any 1.0.X.0 to compare with your files in pc\audio\Config. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1EP_byVUs_IsIIHSxG1C_pkRiit3hQoEY/ They should work with non-downgraded radio files in pc\audio\sfx but many stations will play less songs as these audio config files reference old songs many of which were removed in 2020 Complete Edition.
