I sure hope that people looking to purchase gta4 take a look in this troubleshooting section (so many problems, most with no answers). If I hadn't been such a fan boy and bought it on release day, I'd be a much less stressed gamer. GTA4 has taught me something useful, from this day forth, for all big game releases, I shall add one week onto the release date, and spend that time checking forums in future. So far only HD26xx, HD36xx issue... either everyone else has their hands full with other crap, or the problem is native only to this series of Video Cards. Happens on my HD 3850 when I try to use omega or cat 8.6 Not with cat 8.12 Why am I using older drivers? Because stupid PC keeps freezing. Makes no sense. relliksoul Posted December 27, 2008 Share Posted December 27, 2008 (edited) This not just ATI I have same problem but dos,nt stand out as much, im on 8800gt 512mb with 180.84 drivers, tried plenty of drivers but problem exists, (shadow strips) they just look crap, not only that but i have the low detail poly problem to, they (greyish poly's) appear over the road or covering a dip or door way, and then vanish shortly after, wish someone had a fix!!! oh and flickering lights aswell, again dos'nt seem as severe as reported here on ati cards, but does exist!
