The console had that effect enabled permanently, it blurred out the rough edges and made the shadows a lot less grainy. Though the shadows on your pictures seem a lot more messed up... try the blur effect. I hate it too as it basically blurs out the whole game and its textures, but it's there for the simple reason of making the game seem less rough than it already is. If you're shaking your head while reading this because you've already tried what I said, just keep hoping for Rockstar to fix it. unfortunately its the blurred version. thx for the help though. its not THAT much of a problem when im not flying but still can be annoying sometimes they will fix it eventually...i guess.. unchaineddb Posted December 15, 2008 Share Posted December 15, 2008 its not really ATI's fault. it just happens that our cards are configured differently. hence its also happening with SOME Nvidia though there configuration is mostly different thus it dosent happen AS OFTEN. Rockstar was SUPPOST to create a direct x file that would compensate how the images are rendering. at the moment its like looking at something from an angle. and the images are divided up into different parts. those parts are refusing to render in a diagonal shape. Thus they "fight" as to who will be over the top of each other creating this UGLY effect known as z-fighting. This is a tell tale sign thats they really did a pathetic half job of porting because it seems they didnot compensate for this ONE BIT. and really to do it its easy as 1,2,3 but if we were to try and do it ourselves. thats going to make things alot harder. trying to script a whole direct x file that works 100% with the game. Just get your thumbs out your asses rockstar and make a patch for this already I'm sure it wouldn't take you that bloody long. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

But you continue to ignore us ati users with valid quesiotns??? Could you PRETTY PLEASE with a SUGAR COATED NIKO on top, put in some comment about these issues in this thread? I'm also unable to see dynamic shadows at all, check out the screenies in this thread http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?showtopic=384375&st=20 scroll down halfway and check the pics taken by swsuk. Or those gorgeous pics w-i-d-e screen pics from Paddy the Wak further down the page, notice the shadows being cast from headlights? Can any ATI users see these shadows? Can any ATI users see these shadows?? I need a new hobby other than waiting for patches, I dont know how and when that hobby started, but I've been doing this for a couple of years now...... What kind of programmers are uni's pumping out these days?? Actually thats unfair, this falls upon the whipping head honcho's shoulders, which is not just a R* problem, its becoming too much disturbingly common.... I've spent $200 Au on GTA4 (ps3/pc), just a hint of support is not much too ask, or should we be posting Cool Awesome Fun Much Boom gta4 videos instead to get noticed. Shame shame shame.
