Overclocking my CPU for this. Worth it?

I did not insulted anyone personnally in there, so I do not understand why people are bashing at me. I am not affected by this, I only find this debate unrealistic since you guys are denying true things. I might have ben wrong on couple things, this is true. But I am right on most of it and I dont need an internet guy, nor a ''website'' to confirm that for me. Anyone can read the back of a box or a specs sheet. Not everyone can open a chips and understand how it does work.

I have nothing to prove anyway. I wont win anything for that. To thoses who say I am wrong, look like I'm not the only ones telling you that. I would definately not rely on you, to overclock a cpu or to design electronic component whatever your skills are.

I've seen many people posting their performance for GTA4 on this forum. They all have crazy system and yet experience bad performance. I do have great performance as I demonstrated in other post with a normal high end gaming computer. The main differences are my components being cooler.

Looks like it give me 10 more fps than most of people in there.

In the end, you can tell everything you want, what matter is the result and I got it without overclocking and it's even better.

People who Overclocks also tends to Overreact.

Are you seriously saying you are getting better performance than other people on the same spec hardware, with the same settings...

...because your machine is running cooler?

Your FPS will suck no matter what your cpu is clocked to, i upped the QX9770 to 3.4 and still get pathetic unplayable framerates..

What, you went from 0 to 20??

MANOWAR just for your information i think you are wrong in saying because your hardware is cooler it's running faster...that simply is not true anything within the spec limit of that component is built to work within those boundaries and sometimes higher and can/will not degrade performance - intel spec sheets usually indicate voltage range to temperature range of "safe" operation and have absolutely no performance on impact with higher temps unless you go crazy and have your processor sitting on idle 70 and loads on high 80's etc, then you will probably realize that the cpu has thermal throttling and will either degrade your performance because it automatically under clocks itself to cool it down or that it will shut down if you have turned off advanced features in bios like c1, throttling, spread spectrum etc.

That is the ONLY time you will get degraded performance with an intel CPU...Videocards are another topic and the cause of higher clocks or overheating is artifacts and shut down's sometimes even blue screens - But all of todays GPU's have also built in throttling and either underclock, turn off or just crash depending on card/brand etc. I can list more components that do this too like ram for example - overclocking ram or tightening the timings can cause BSOD and random crashes, faulty or unstable/overclcoked motherboards can also have the same effect but in no way or very rare cases will you get degraded performance the way you say...
