Kucikuc24
Find /RockStar Games/ and click to Grand Theft Auto IV folder with right buttom on mouse and click to properients. Now click to security, click to User(YOURPC/User) and click to Edit. Now click to User(YOURPC/User) again, and dont click to allow all. Now click to apply and before it click to OK and again to OK...this can help you, if no, run GTAIV.exe as admin

Shaidon
I have my game patched to 1.0.4 and issues with Xlive that making peds behaving strangely, but with Asi Loader they are OK. The problem is now my saves aren't recognized (load failed...) because of this stupid protection. I'm playing it with a offline account, then was suppose to work anyway, since I'm not using a cheated save to play online! There is anyway to make it work with this? Playing any save? The problem is in your head and ASI loader. Btw how can it be pc problem if I HAVEN'T reinstalled my OS and this error appeared only for the last few patches? Are you still playing a smart guy? Insults won't help you making your point. If your arguments don't convince him, insults won't do so too. It is best to say nothing at all if you have given up on arguments. BTW: Turing off UAC and DEP completely is a very bad idea! Indeed, only noobs turn off UAC or DEP. In fact it is not even needed. Regarding this asi loader, it works 100% on my pc, and I have turned on UAC and DEP (not being a noob ). I use dsound.dll dated 28-01-2009 ! Yaasil has also always worked without problems, and since it doesn't produce a logfile, the following stuff isn't even needed when using this asi loader: There is also no need to adjust folder permissions. If you installed the game in it's default location (C:\program files\Rockstar Games\Grand theft auto IV) UAC will prevent you from writing to asilog.txt as even though you might be logged on as admin, your session only runs with a user token. Now there are two ways around this issue: 1) install the game into a non protected location (read, not c:\program files) for instance c:\games, this way you can suffice with normal user token, and don't need an administrator token to write to this location. 2) run the game as administrator by default. Whatever you do, don't turn off UAC, you will make Vista/Windows 7 as secure as XP when ran under administrator credentials, and believe me, you dont want to do that. You disable the split user token, disable file + registry virtualisation, and the sandbox for IE7/IE8. Also setting permission on c:\program files to normal users is a very bad idea, it's all about OS integrity and security, don't compromise on that for a game, and especially since it's not needed. Sjaak: if i m beginner in C++, it not mean, that i dont know everythink other... I have ran 64 bits OS's for years (Vista, Windows 7, Server 2008, Server 2008R2) and never ever had to turn off DEP. So you are probably running a few dodgy applications. Don't compromise security for them, you can make an exception for applications that don't run well with DEP switched on, don't fully switch it off. Bad thing to reduce security for just a few apps. sjaak327
eem...with DEP off all working good, with ON not...i have it tested OMG... READ what I wrote, you can disable DEP for applications that have problems with it, the "Opt out" as they call it. Now you have disabled it completely, so you have considerably lessen your security... Indeed noobish thing to do.
