And we can't turn off DEP for GTA IV. But the strange thing is when I use XLiveLess only (removed dsound.dll and EFC20Fix.asi) the game starts perfectly. Gforce Posted March 27, 2009 Share Posted March 27, 2009 (edited) try (i didn't test this)alexander.sannybuilder.com/Files/stuff/FileCheckFix.asi filelist.pak will not load anymore many thanks Alex. i tested the asi with V3 and as i was hoping, the game crashed, this means that the game now does indeed depend on the filelist.pak in order to map the game. what we actually need is a filesize check bypass asi for the filelist.pak, not a file bypass asi, the filelist.pak is now needed in order to run the game because it is resposible for telling the engine where all the img/ide/wpl files are located so they can be used to map the game. Dwyer17 Posted March 28, 2009 Share Posted March 28, 2009 (edited) I'm also having the similar problem. I have patch my game to V3. I'm using the 1.2b version of the ASI loader by Alexander. "GTAIV Fatal Error: WS10" "XNetStartup Failed" I then applied the EFC20FIX. Gforce Posted March 29, 2009 Share Posted March 29, 2009 are you sure that the GXT is affected by modding ? i modified the american.gxt and the game still runs fine, so far the only file that causes the game not to run for me is the filelist.pak. here is a screen showing that my american.gxt is modified on V3. I thought that filelist.pak isn't needed anymore with the 1.0.3.0 and the ASI loader. Try renaming/deleting your filelist.pak and see if it helps? I'm having a little trouble understanding how to install it though. EDIT: Alright. I have xliveless installed, I think (I extracted everthing from the RAR file into the directory). The only trainer that works (out of the four trainers in the downloads section of The GTA Place) is the "GTA IV Simple Native Trainer v1.0", but the game crashes to desktop after playing for a minute or two. But some hacks have ABUSED their creations (namely the scripthook and the filecheck disabler), in order to enable functions that the creators themselves don't want enabled in the first place for the sake of keeping non-free/non-party mode MP fair...
