Anyway, I got a problem ... i can teleport myself but when i load a new game or when i leave and launch GTA4 again, i can't teleport myself anymore ... There is a constant loading or a come back to windows ...

Could you please tell me what happen and how could i solve that ?

for show directly the error, i've put the pics on internet; see them in order, thanks:

 

1) http://img141.imageshack.us/img141/8185/52239247jz5.jpg - Normal GTAIV folder WITHOUT ASI Loader.

2) http://img141.imageshack.us/img141/2539/39098039xe1.jpg - Ever without the "dsound.dll" file, the game start normally.

3) http://img156.imageshack.us/img156/5018/44167073cg6.jpg - This is what happened AFTER, when i put the "dsound.dll" file and launch the game.

4) http://img141.imageshack.us/img141/1563/16751895ta6.jpg - No choise here, i need to close the game.

5) Here i not posting something, because if i delete the "dsound.dll" file from the folder of GTAIV, it start again normally.

 

I want to specify that I do everything this, not to reproach the author of something, but to ask help and showing to him this error which seems happening only to me. Thank you and sorry for bad english.

I'm doing nothing wrong, I know that because I installed it correctly before the patch, and this time it's the exact same thing (except for restoring one of the files, which I did).

 

I really hope this will be fixed.

I think you need to have the FileCheckFix.asi in there as well.

that is the link....I am talking specifically about the file check disabler...I just noticed it wasn't in your root folder.

 

Also make sure you have updated to 1.0.2.0

 

Make sure you have removed administrative or changed the administrative permissions on the gta iv directory...since dsound.dll does create a log in the directory...what may be causing the problem is that administrative rules won't allow the .dll to create the log, so it crashes alltogether.

 

You also might want to copy and paste dsound.dll and FileCheckFix.asi over rather than cutting them.....and put those two in the same folder, and then COPY them into the GTA directory

I have downloaded your "Alice Scripting" mod, but some problems occured : I have copied all of the files to right places, but this file (dsound.dll) f*cks up GTA IV. When I try to launch the game, it crashes. All other files seems to work, but this file in particular doesn't

I have the same problem, and I tried to do everything you said, camdogie, but it still crashes

BTW. Does GTA IV automaticly update? If not, how do I update manually?

TheKris555, first check to see if you have the 1.0.2.0 by going to the GTA IV main directory and looking for the GTAIV.exe file. If you have Vista, you may not see the .exe, but you will see the IV symbol followed by GTAIV. Make sure you have the right GTAIV.exe (in other words not the security catalog or the .cfg or the .cdf). Then check the version by (if you have Vista) putting the cursor over it and looking for "File Version: 1.0.2.0" or (if you have XP) right clicking selecting Properties and then maybe a tab called "Details" and then looking for "File Version: 1.0.2.0".

 

If you see that you DO have file version 1.0.2.0, then I probably can't help you.

 

But if you see anything other than 1.0.2.0, go to: http://www.rockstargames.com/support/IV/PC/patch/index.html

and download it.

Then try it and see what happens.

 

But even if you do have 1.0.2.0 already, you MIGHT want to try downloading and installing it again.

 

Goodluck, and if this doesn't work I hope you figure it out somehow...I know how frustrating this can be.

Crashing happens for me ESPECIALLY when I jog/sprint and then jump in the ragdoll mod (EDIT: Nevermind, when I sprint and jump even with NO mods loaded except the ASI loader, my game crashes). In fact, it happens 100% of the time. It only doesn't crash when I stand still and jump. And even then, the game will still crash for apparently no reason some other times. Regardless, I can't go more than 3 minutes without the game crashing.

 

I also get that error that the game must be closed when it starts, but if I ignore it, the game starts anyways.

 

I'm curious why the mod works for some and not others. Or does it not work for anyone now?

 

Is there some other ASI loader to use? Maybe the loader is the problem.

Same, I get this feeling like dsound.dll is the whole reason my ragdoll mod crashes (since it tries to crash you even before you run the game). Not sure on that, but it seems possible.

I put a save file in the folder "C:\Users\X\AppData\Local\Rockstar Games\GTA IV\savegames" and when I try to load it in-game, it still says "unable to load" or "error with disc" or something like that, which I was told would be fixed after I put the FileCheckFix in there..

Hey man , i downloaded your ASI loader and always i tried i haven't got binkw3.dll file and binkhooked.dll only a dsound.dll and when i tried to put only dsound.dll game dosn't open please help me ( I have VISTA sp2 ) !!!!!!!!

u must have binkw32.dll because it's original game file

binkhooked.dll doesn't needed in asi loader 1.0.2 - only dsound.dll

 

also u must have admin rights etc ...

ok so i downloaded this file and placed them in C:\Program\Rockstar Games\Grand Theft Auto IV. and restarted my PC started the game and i get this error message any ideas? so now i probably have to re install the game if there isnt a fix for this . i did replace the old binkw32.dll and binkhooded.dll wrong?

No, don't replace binkw32.dll, keep the original one and put dsound.dll in the root

 

binkw32.dll and binkhooked do not need to be put into/replaced in the GTA IV root folder

I just want to know if the flag.ini mod is working with GTA IV 1.0.2?? If not will it be possible to make it work with it, because I really want to get rid of my shadow it sucks me up. So it would be nice if (alexander or someone else) could write one that is compatible with 1.0.2.

check if you have a working .asi loader if not scan the directory/hard drive

No, you can only compile asi's, not decompile them

BIG THX to you, Alex Blade, for updating the Renderflagcustom-mod! It works perfectly for me with the flag 00010001100110000001100110101111. The Distance-Drawing Flag doenst work..theres only a big light point on my screen!
