Puffalump
Putting this here in case anyone is still having the problem with Windows Live Installations. Be sure when you install the wllogin_32.msi (I think that's the live ID assistant) your background intelligent transfer service, your software licensing service, and your windows update services are all started, you can turn them off after you have a successful install. You may notice the Windows Live service in your services now if you were missing it before. Putting this string in here for searches, since it's the msg I was getting after reinstalling live after the WS10 "windows live ID sign-in assistant setup wizard ended prematurely" and it ran properly when i turned those services on. Update: Great... even though I could reinstall GFWL without the "prematurely" message anymore, Im getting the WS10 error again. Not going to buy Max Payne because of this, this is happening to alot of people Edited June 12, 2012 by Puffalump

mkey82
You should avoid using such large yellow font, it's matter of common courtesy. Your question is just as readable when you don't make the text stand out. HelixBrightstar
Just bought GTS IV and getting GTA IV FATAL ERROR: WS10 Uninstalling and re-installing windows live did not help at all. I am about ready to get my money back because I also can't even log into Rockstar at the prompt when attempting to start the game. This is RIDICULOUS! Girish
I'd recommend you to start a new topic with detailed information about your system and the things that you've tried so far. That way, you'll get better, dedicated help.

andy19738
Fatal error ws10 often comes if you tried to apply razor 1911 Crack(File will also have a virus did you check?) and/or you tried to remove the rockstar's modding protection by applying a modding patch. P.S. The last thing is you cant remove this error. Just reinstall windows use original exe file. _______________________________________________________________________ Remove Duplicate Files For Faster PC Performance. Pcurt21
Hope this helps people solve the dreaded WS10 error. Troubleshooting: GTA IV WS10 Error Fix I spent hours trying to fix this problem. After much research and experimentation I finally got GTA IV running. Here is my suggestions: - Update to the newest NVIDIA (180.84)/ATI (8.12) driver - Update to the most recent drivers for your motherboard chipset - Update to Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1 - Restart your computer If it still doesn't work try the following: - Reinstall GTA IV That worked for me, if you aren't so lucky I suggest you trade your copy of GTA IV for a firebomb and book a flight to Rockstar. I just got this game and i can't update anything cuz i don't have an internet connection (thanks to the ship) is there a fix that doesn't require downloading anything? mkey82
I'm assuming you have a retail game version. Is GFWL redistributable provided on the game disk? If yes, uninstall GFWL and reinstall it. Alternately, the minimum download that could fix this problem is xliveless.

mkey82
Don't install any drivers, WS10 error should relate to a bad GFWL installation.

WS10MOTHEREFFER
where do you find the Xlive.dll in the gtaIV folder i can't seem to find it.?
mkey82
It's present only if you have xliveless installed. The original xlive.dll belonging to GFWL should be located somewhere in the system32 folder.
