How about them people with missing textures. Thats what I'm interested in. This fix it?

installed the driver, all textures appeared but my map disappeared instead, and whenever I press Esc, can't see any menu. It's still beta, so I will wait for final release. And on top, game is a bit clipping at 800x600 res with quad core, 4gb ram and 7950GT OC 512mb card.

Your after settings are higher than your before settings. Why don't you keep them like your before settings and try again?

Yes,the driver improves the game by a few frames but it stutters the sh*t out of left 4 dead. I reverted back to 178.24.

I was wondering if anyone with 4gb and over of ram could post and say that they get the "memory leak" thingy too? I bet that is the problem, someone told me they had it (2GB ram) under vista but switching to xp made the problem disappear.

dont forget vista is a ressource hog. I know, I'm running it.

I have 8gig and still get the memory leak, a couple of hours in and RESC10.

Never got it with the the 178.24 drivers but do now using 180.70 ones, but then I didnt get up to 60FPS either.

That 30FPS shot, the car was going pretty feckin fast at the time and had plenty cops on my tail.

The game is using 60 to 70% CPU about same GPU and up to 4gigs when running, I have not stopped any prcesses inthe background though and run an irc and surf the net while playing to. Probably not the best way to run the game but it deosnt stop me.

Can't wait to finish work and try out the new .84 ones and see if I get any more.

Sorry but windows 7 is NOT supported, we can't particularly help you out as not a whole lot is known about the changes between the two OS's, perhaps dual boot XP or Vista.

EDIT: although it sounds like you are running out of video memory.

No change for me when going from 180.48 to 180.84. I did however get 5 fps when I upgraded from 178.xx to 180.48.

This benchmark isn't really any good. Even though I usually play with 30-40 fps, it sometimes goes down to 18 when the rain sets in.

//as a side note.. ive been able to take view distance up from 25 to the 40s with no drop in fps. Matter of fact it goes up some times. Shadows are maxed, detail distance is as well. I got cars set to 15.

Mods - forgive me for creating the very same post on two threads but its important that they both are where they are. Okay let's get to business.

I have modded and installed newest nvidia drvs 180.84 on 8600M GT

As you can see 11.91 fps compared to 26.72 fps is quite an improvement. Moreover video memory usage has decreased from 95% to 59%. Dunno if its good but game runs smoother now. Waiting for more improvements with R* patch...

Microsoft works on this title, a few builds are leaked (6519, 6801 and the newest leaked is 6956) and the official Beta out comes in the 13th of January icon14.gif

It's like Vista, but with removed useless features and it runs faster

So i personally tried the Windows 7 Build 6801, and need to say, that this Build is very stable

When you have SLI you are only able to use the first cards memory, and since the game does not have SLI support you are basically running the game on a 9800GTX although I am sure that some of the 2nd "card" is being use in some capacity.

SLI does NOT double the video ram as each card still has to hold the textures, sorry.

I noticed a 2-5FPS boost with SLi enabled in NVIDIA control panel, so the second card deos something but not much.

I tried installing it over the 180.70 drivers but it didn't appear to have updated. Does anyone know if this driver is compatable with 7900 GS?

Or whats the best way to update my drivers?
