Apo-TTCC
Did you try to run GTA IV in Safe Mode? It can be launched via the Taskbar > Start >... > Rockstar Games > Grand Theft Auto VI > Grand Theft Auto IV Safe Mode.
Arnos
yes i tried but remains the same
Apo-TTCC
Usually the 'Out of Range' error shows up if you overide your display beyond it's specifications and is to protect it from damage. Like setting a resolution to 1280*1024 @ 85Hz while it only supports 60Hz at that resolution. Why it shows up with 60Hz in your case is weired since every display should support this. Arnos
it could be a driver problem? i tried to force to start in 640x400 in compatibilty but nothing happened
Apo-TTCC
Possible, check the page of the display manufacturer if there are any drivers availabale for it. Same goes for your VGA card and also updating/reinstalling DirectX to the latest release (November 2008) might help since i doubt that the latest version came along on the disc. If you need help with the links tell me the exact names of your display and vga card. Latest DirectX can be found here: DirectX 9.0c November 2008 Full DirectX 9.0c November 2008 Webupdater

slutty
I was looking for a fix because i got this issue aswell, finaly found a solution that worked for me, was a bit sceptical cause i thought the procedure seemed to easy and pretty wierd.. Anyways here is the solution for those that cant get it to work in "safemode" First off make a new txt document and rename it "commandline.txt" without the "quotes" Now open the empty document and copy paste whats in the box -width 800 -height 600 -safemode -minspecaudio -refreshrate 60 Put the file you just made into the GTAIV game directory (Where GTAIV.EXE is placed) Now start your GTAIV and set the graphics to your prefered resolution. (Run a benchmark from the game if your unsure how smooth game will run) Exit the game when your settings are saved.. Now delete the "commandline.txt" file from gamedirectory or it will start up with those settings everytime you start the game.. Hope this fixes your problems. it did for me.. (I wont take credit for this fix since i found it on youtube as a comment) Just wanted others to enjoy this nice little fix aswell as i did

mkey82
Well then, your best bet would be to restore original files. Also check the mod support thread (if there is one) for more details.
