Ok so I got into MP and prior to downloading the game via D2D I read some really bad stuff; heres the thing you have to understand I have just came from 2 botched releases, Spore being one, mercs 2 being another, On both I had to fight with EA for one month to get my account to work online as their account linking procedure and activation system was botched for many on both games, I actually wasnt ever going to buy a game with drm in it again but didnt realise GTA 4 had it. Anyway so I expected the worsed but I am pleasantly surprised , I dont have top settings but it still looks as good as the console and I was just on an mp server their with maybe 4 or 5 people and I never got lag. If they can get this game optimised MP is going to rule One question though I am using a dual shock PS2 usb pad and its great I have it working , however to driveby it requires me pushing L2 what this does is the avator smashes the car window and fires at a spot, the problem I need to resolve is how do I move the crosshair to aim during a drive by? Really pleasantly surprised and with the run of bad games Ive had quite shocked that for once I have had insta access to the features I bought the game for. I will be away to play sp for a while now and dont have time to sent all my FPS and stuff but I am only using a Nvidia 8600GT and an amd x2 5600 and only 2gig xms corsair ram with vista! So I know I can get a further boost if I use xp , I am also using sata 2 hard drives and I have the capability to raid them which I will do next format so hopefully that will give another boost again. I definatly dont want to count my chickens so to speak as I can see the game stil;l needs much work but this game in the little time I have played doesnt initially seem as badly optimised as gothic 3 was at launch Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Just forget about the bickering anyway and try and get back on topic; this I respectively ask. Take the flaming elsewhere, I can even understand people getting irate if it is justified but it is not and to then turn and attack other users who are asking you to stop making a mountain out of a molehill is out of order. Please do not cause hassle on the thread I started. I refuse to get drawn into the trvia anymore so how do I manage to aim during a drive by? Also no hard feelings people lets just stop all this, I apologise if the fact I did not put punction in the word "didn't" caused people not to understand. Just to finally say perhaps in the context you were meaning you could have also spelled "WoW" as whoa so I got it wrong initially as well and thanks for getting back on topic. (10* worse than this) Thanks for mentioning about the classic configuration , I forgot we could tweak that aspect of the settings so I will give that a shot! Forums in general are dam cynical places and it gets me down as well sometimes and corporations doing their multi-platform releases and rushing stuff out the door with DRM really get the majority attaining utter dis-dain for the guilty companies so it creates a bad atmosphere on the forums at times but I won't go there. SuperJude™ Posted December 5, 2008 Share Posted December 5, 2008 The downside to classic, at least in terms of driveby's, is I had an uncomfortable time at first accelerating and firing since it's x to accelerate and L1 to fire (right thumb, left index finger) but I got used to it and have had some pretty successful driveby's. Too often people get caught up in trying to drive others over and totally overlook the fact they should be shooting at the person as they drive towards them. As for shooting someone driving towards them I think I will need to practice that quite a bit as I image that will be a really useful tactic online. Appreciated!
