topeira Posted December 5, 2008 Share Posted December 5, 2008 hey peeple. while im enjoying IV a lot(!) i keep thinking if there's a way to make more memory available for the game. toying with my page file or whatever. i dont know anything (sadly) about how to access or change page file or even what exactly this thing does but maybe i can help the game run a little better. my rig: win XP (SP3) HD4870 512mb 2GB RAM Q6600 the in game options menu says i have about 490 resources\memory\whatchamacallit... is there a way to give more resources to IV? if so than what is the down size of doing so? what do i have to lose? thanks a bunch. Jops Posted December 11, 2008 Share Posted December 11, 2008 I asked the same question here: http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?showtopic=380663&hl= but I figured out that the command was: setting -availablevidmem to 1.5 in the commandline gave me 723 units of memory.
