Do you regret buying GTA IV?

Should others be warned about buying GTA IV? Should they wait until Rockstar fixes the game before spending $$$ ?

after a year of waiting, buying the game (70$ here in croatia) and 5 hours of trying to run the game.. you could say i'm ready for the mental institution..

 

i sincerely hope there will be a solution these days

I voted, but this poll is skewed and therefore worthless.

 

Even if you took a game that worked for 9999 out of every 10000 people, there would still be irritated and pissed off people in the tech support area. A poll here is like asking a republican if being a conservative is a good/bad trait or asking a democrat if being a liberal is a good/bad trait.

 

Just based on where the poll is located creates an insanely unfair bias ...

 

By the way, I'm having major issues with my game (BSODs) so I'm not defending R* in any way, just pointing out the facts.

I suggest everyone who hasnt lose money yet wait for patch to launch and read carefully comments how it manages to fix issues.

 

These are still waiting to be solved:

 

- general lag, no matter how good system you have you get poor fps even with lowest possible setting and changing settings doesnt make notable difference --> lazy conversion from ps and xbox since them got worse hardware than many pc's that its not working well

 

- alt tab to windows messes graphics, lights, sky, menu texts, ingame texts etc all gone

 

I have a feeling that not one patch will solve all this since they had over 10 months to develop and test this game...

 

What I've learned after losing 40 euros? Never buy game before you read others experience.

Better not waste 40-50 euro before the forums say it runs OK and Rockstar admits that they've released a damn buggy game..

I can't log into multiplayer, single player has no audio for some cut scenes greatly detracting from the joy of the game. Yes I am very disappointed and I wish I never bought the game.

I don't regret since I would have bought it eventually. I am kinda pissed that I probably won't be able to play it until they release some sort of patch. But regret buying it? Nah. If I hadn't already played through the game on the 360, it may be a different story but half of the reason why I got the PC version was for the separate points . . .
